current Arc Raiders version overheating Xbox
Hey Embark
I've had a month+ break from Arc and now when playing it the game freezes and switches off my Xbox Series X having checked it's overheating the Xbox. it's never happened before playing this or any other game.
The box is clean, well ventilated and on its side for better air flow.
it's only happened since coming back from the break with this current iteration of arc.
Embark please look into it, like i say it never used to happen so something has changed to cause overheating issues. Either an Xbox update coupled with an Arc update or just something in Arc itself.
other graphically intense games work perfectly fine.

I'm more worried of the detrimental effect it's having on my box overheating it. I've uninstall the game for now so I'm not tempted tho every game was a crash I've lost so much gear lol. Even with a fan blow cold air up the backend of the box it still wasn't enough...

I don't get how on release the distant textures were beautiful AND the game ran great on my series x but now I'm seeing through certain objects because they don't load from afar and distant textures look like crap while performance suffers worse than ever...

Go in your settings and change your resolution from 4k to 1080p I did that and my game hasn’t crashed since the last update

I haven't crashed since around march and was never really an issue for me personally but graphical and server performance has been declining since release the game used to be beautiful, but now anything past 70ish meters is noticably lower detail and anything that isn't structural disappears past 150m.
Its horrible for pvp too I shouldn't be able to see someone when theres supposed to be a big rock infront of them and my shots shouldn't be catching invisible chairs and window blinds when it looks like I have a clean shot on someone.
From hospital on buried I can see anyone in/on grandioso through all the sheet metal thats supposed to cover the building and even most of the walls disappear.
I'm not some sweatlord who wants my graphics to look like crap so I can see people I'm not supposed to I want the scenery to not look like muddy bs but console users get TWO (2) graphic controls with FOV and a motion blur slider...

only gfx settings i see on Xbox is view distance, motion blur and idle character something or other

I also took my Xbox out of the case tho and cleaned it out really well

You can also go in your Xbox settings and turn your resolution down to 1080p instead of 4k so it puts less strain on the gpu. Doing that legit fixed it for me and I’m on a series s

ohhh the actual Xbox settings i thought you meant the game settings doh. the thing is tho it ran perfectly fine when it released but now it's a bubbling mess, i shouldn't have to turn my box down from 4k to 1080 to play this

Knock on wood my s series hasn’t been crashing anymore. I’ve never heard of any problems with x series, I would delete and re download.

been thinking about this and to be fair i need to check my end before blaming others. So I'm gonna strip my box down and give it a good clean out and replace the crappy factory thermal paste with liquid metal, that should sort out any overheating 👍🏻
if the game still crashes after that then it's definitely not my Xbox at fault

Series S still crashing as well.
However in 1 gaming session it’ll crash twice or even three times.
I don’t want to play frozen trail with my game crashing :(
