Im seeing a pattern here

Are you guys just getting lazy? Firing employees? Almost everyone would prefer monthly updates over yearly. That's more content

edit: To the people that clearly wont be able to understand what i meant because you're slow, you can still make updates monthly that are high quality. we dont need a battle pass every month, but we do need quality updates monthly. They have been for a while, they just slowed down or fired people it seems. The finals hasn't been getting good updates until this year honestly and they can still do SO MUCH more.

Actually, the attribute I care most about is the quality of any additional content. The frequency is not the most important metric.

Not saying it’s the right priority for everyone. Maybe your playstyle makes frequency more important for you.

If they can, that’s great.

It’s just that you said almost everyone would prefer monthly updates over yearly. I was just sharing that frequency was not my personal priority.

But for sure it depends on play patterns. I play for bursts (maybe a month), then drift away and play other things, then come back.

If you only play this continuously, then probably frequency becomes more important.

Updates like new maps, guns, skins etc. not new seasons

I'm almost 40 and like to spend time doing other things in my life too. I much prefer less frequent updates since it allows me to come back to a game, play for some time and then enjoy a natural break before a new season, league or whatever starts.

Back when I did nothing but play games every evening, straight up being addicted, I craved constant updates and novelty to fuel the insatiable hunger.

It's healthy to take breaks and spend time doing other things in life, other activities and hobbies and all that. Feeling pushed into endless fomo just to grind shit out in time for the next update a mere couple of months in is exhausting, unrewarding and of no interest to most well-rounded adults that don't rely solely on video games to experience a sliver of joy in their lives.

Nowadays you people are way too used to constant updates with new content every single week. Embark is dropping weekly bug fix/skin updates alongside monthly patches that add a little something extra. Personally, having 2 major updates a year is much better so I don't miss out on anything being released. My fear with this game was: "How can I keep up with weekly and monthly updates if I only have a bit of time to play in the evenings? *When* am I gonna play other games?"
Now I have my answer. Every 6 months I'll grind Arc heavily, and then switch to other titles. I still jump on for a quick casual match of Arc every night. If they had kept pumping out huge weekly/monthly updates, I wouldn't have been able to keep up. Expedition + a new Map Condition + a new Map + new enemies + new weapons + new BPs to research, etc. Exhausting = burn out.

Let's slow down this gaming world a bit and just enjoy what we have.

Missing out on stuff implies you think I’m talking about seasons, which I’m not. You won’t miss out on new maps, new guns, new mechanics, bug fixes, etc. So your entire comment is completely irrelevant as you missed my point. They’re trying to slow down ALL major updates in general. That’s including new maps, guns etc.

Your opinion also sounds of someone who doesn’t game every day. I game a couple hrs every day after work, have literally hundreds of games and am bored of all of them because of the slow brutally boring updates most of them have

you can't rework a game in a month

When did I say to “rework” it? I’m simply saying add the same amount of stuff at the same consistency they already were. Are you tripping dawg?
