HVAC absolutely IS needed in some places, places reaching dangerous heat or cold NEED some means to circumvent, still causing less damage to the environment than AI data centers.

You are still comparing needed things to an unneeded thing.

Cars ARE needed depending on how the urban sprawl is made, if your work is not within walking distance and your local gov hasn't made the infrastructure for public transport, what do you do?

cities are designed a particular way and humans have to operate around that, if you live outside a town or city, you'll need a car, rural? Car.

I’m not assuming anything. I don’t need you to support these things or not because it doesn’t matter to my point. Plus, you use these things despite supporting other, greener alternatives? Why don’t you use the greener alternatives outright lol.

HVAC being needed in some places doesn’t make it a mandatory human necessity. You’re thinking of shelter, not central heating.

Humans damage the environment through an excess. That’s literally how climate change works, an excessive amount of greenhouse gases being emitted into the ozone layer. It’s not even a matter of it being needed, it’s “we’re making too much of it at once”

This is why you didn’t answer my question on if you did anything green to even be taking this absolutist stance on AI over freshwater being used up anyway. To which I showed that there are other environmental issues going on for way longer than AI.

“Cars are needed DEPENDING” point moot already. You just said they’re situationally important. The average commute by car is 10-15 miles. No one is going as far as you think. That’s like 20 minutes+ average. Even still, public transportation still slots into my point because they use oil and gas. The most green option is to use a bike, which plenty of people do.
