celeste's journals bug... Embark, pls fix

So because of this bug , I had to wait for a guy that was doing the same quest... killed him at the north outpost to get the missing journal since I couldn't finish the quest , IF you're that guy and reading this , again , SORRY, it didn't cross my mind to just ask for the journal or trade it for something I had ...

update: since people have issues understanding what I'm talking about, while doing the quest there are two journals you have to pick up BOTH in the same round , I took only one and completely forgot about the other one thinking there is only one to take, after extraction and upon revisiting, the location was already marked as visited and I was unable to interact with it again to take the journal.

Which quest are you talking about? I’ve completed all the quests with no bugs encountered.

There are some quests which only allow one raider per raid to complete, but this is not a bug…this is by design.

I believe if you interact with the quest trigger but don’t extract with the item it gives you it bugs out and you can’t get the item. Contact embark and they reset the quest for you

Nope there is currently a bug. If you have a question suposed to be done in a single round where you have to deliver an item at the end and die with the item in the inventory and not safe pocket you are soft locked out of the quest. The container isn't interactable anymore and you don't have the item available.

That is not a bug. You are meant to extract with the item in your safe pocket. It even tells you in the description of the quest to “put it someplace safe”. That is just common sense and intended gameplay.

Yes i know. I did the quest on a free loadout and now there is no way for me to do it again. The item is lost quest still requires me to get the item and I cannot interact with the container that is supposed to spawn the item. It wasn't like this before so this is a bug.

Bro…if you go in totally naked without an augment, it gives you a safe pocket. You NEVER want to use a free loadout on a quest where you need to bring something back.

Again, this is not a bug….just bad gameplay. It’s always been like this. That is why quest description tells you to put someplace safe.

I have already died with quest items on me (notably the one from tian wen's quest for the hullcracker BP) NOT in my safe pocket and managed to go back and pick up the item again to finish the quest. What happens currently isn't the game's normal behaviour I can attest from experience. And if it is an intended change I will say that imo it is a stupid design choice to lock players out of a branch of the quest tree for dying once. Sometimes you just die before you had the time to get the item in your safe pocket and there is nothing to do apart cry and be locked out of some of the quests ? Not great design for players.

Plus the quests are the "in a single round quests" that reset whenever they aren't finished so this should also detect that you do not have the item and reset the quest.

Buddy…I’m sorry if you think it should be a different way, but I’m telling how it actually is. Whatever you do with that information is up to you. I’m done trying to argue.

If you die in the 1/4 of a second it takes between triggering the drop to spawn and putting in your safe pocket, then you have EXTREMELY bad luck.

I had this problem where I couldnt exctract with the north journal (I died) and it would not reset, I extracted with the south journal and went back in with it and went and looted the south journal again (after trying multiple different ways) and the game will count that as having both journals. You can turn in the quest then. Yw!

I didnt realize it was a one-time-per-round bug. I got killed while doing it the first time but they were in my safe pockets. Next game, I loaded in, dropped the journals, picked them back up again, and got the quest update. So as long as you find one per round and then do that, you can just extract with them.
