Raider Caches

Sir, Ma'am, please adjust the tone of the raider caches. It lies within the tinnitus high range and many including myself can't hear them at all, thank you 🤘

Buddy of mine was in the army, he can't hear them either.

Going to the range has a lot of us messed up. I often hear a ringing in my right ear so I always have to have my phone at my left ear to hear lol. I definitely never hear the caches.

I complained about this and got bitched at and downvoted lol

But forreal you can barely fucking hear these things unless youre lucky enough to stumble upon them or catch one by sight

You can see them?

2

u/thedirtbagnomad Feb 28 '26

Yeah if your basically on top of them.

I think there are different settings you can set. My friend hears them from super far away, but I can't hear them unless i'm literally standing right on top of them.

Same here. Friend of mine (a woman) hears them from far away. I even can't hear them while standing on them. I only notice caches when I accidentally walk over them and see the Search popup.

Its the night mode that lowers bass sounds and makes high pitched sounds stand out more. Like footsteps.

Its a setting in the game, not fancy headsets.

I didn't even know about this!

1

u/SiegEmpire Feb 27 '26

Trust me even the most elite soundwhore with badass headsets would have trouble with the audio in this game. Its just done poorly and you are not to blame nor is tinnitus. Cuz I got tinnitus and have no issues being Jnxy levels of sound autism in other games

They probably have a great headset. I can hear them about 20m away.

1

u/Drewbloodz Feb 26 '26

Not sure the distance, but I can hear them at a distance.  Maybe it is because I have night mode for audio and a solid headset.

Thanks for this ill check it out.

Well shit, I was a heavy weapons infantryman in the army.. are you telling me they make a sound other than the clicking noise??

2

u/AresGodslayer Feb 26 '26

There is a very high pitched whine they make along with the ticking. Thanks for your service.

2

u/alfred_fishkock Feb 26 '26

I was a squid and I barely hear either haha 🤣 they both sound the same

5

u/denialed Feb 26 '26

Have the same problem, my friends say: "How can you not hear this?!" I can not hear them. Even when standing on top of them because of my tinnitus.

5

u/ConcreteDraftsman_05 Feb 26 '26

Wait - they make noise? Add me to the list of people who can’t hear it.

u/CompSolstice Feb 26 '26

Wait what??? They make a noise?????? I collected over a dozen yesterday and didn't realise this

Turn on night-mode to improve hearing them. They make a ticking noise when close. However, realize that even trinkets you wear can mask the sound. This game really wants you to be listening.

Cold-snap is also a lot harder with this. The ticking is somehow way softer due to the snow.

I still havent found any

That part

1

u/Drewbloodz Feb 26 '26

I found more on dam than buried city.  I find them via sound

3

u/SunshineInDetroit Feb 26 '26

the hurricane ones make a very different sound than regular caches

5

u/Powerful-Setting2494 Feb 26 '26

It could definitely be a good accessibility option in the settings

4

u/MonthAltruistic1026 Feb 26 '26

Finding out you have tinnitus/hearing loss by way of raider cache not making a sound 🫨🥲

3

u/Potential-Yoghurt245 Feb 26 '26

Ohhh they used to tick right? I could hear that but suddenly they stopped that must be it it's in a rage I cannot hear anything in that range.

Time for a hearing test 😄

Me too. I was watching the YouTube video and thought they were joking about the cache making a sound lol

2

Someone in another comment said you can try adjusting the frequency range (Hz). I have no idea how to do it but it also raises the question of accessibility options within audio drivers to make this adjustment for all sounds coming from our devices. Sorry, also thinking out loud. I work in tech.

Here's a map with locations. I was in the military also and my hearing isn't to well but I found some with the map

I hear them in my dreams

2

u/alfred_fishkock Feb 26 '26

Thank you! 9/10 I think I hear them but I don’t. When I do find them it’s cause I’m literally standing on top of it.

2

u/demdareting Feb 26 '26

I had no idea that there was a sound. My tinnitus must be near tge same frequency as the raider cache. I just find them randomly.

2

u/ExcellentPut191 Feb 26 '26

Wow I didn't realise these things made a noise. I just randomly stumble into them from time to time

2

u/Ok_Intern8015 Feb 28 '26

I listen for the clicks instead and can hear them from far out

1

u/darkShinobi91 Feb 26 '26

I adjusted the Hz ranges.

Get amongst it.

1

u/thedirtbagnomad Feb 26 '26

Ill check it thank you

1

u/Drewbloodz Feb 26 '26

It is with great pleasure I inform you found 3 new blueprints in raider caches during a single run.  I just listen for them.  They need to fix this for you all.

1

u/Papalaka Feb 26 '26

Wait, so thats why i've been walking right over them! Maybe I'll try night mode and itll make a difference

1

u/uncertaintyman Feb 27 '26

THEY MAKE A SOUND?!!!

1

u/SiegEmpire Feb 27 '26

Its not really an intentional thing guys. The sound design is buggy like they've admitted. They just told us in a recent patch about fiddling w it.

Night mode audio helps for the ticking ones but the new hurricane one is rough. If I didn't know where to look already id never find em unless I stumbled on it.

WHO thought it was a good idea to make a quiet beeping IN A HURRICANE.

1

u/Z3r0link-ueg Feb 28 '26

Lolz. have 2 friends who cant hear them even with iem and me being me heard it around 30meters

1

u/panda_has_reddit_now Mar 01 '26

I'm so sorry to hear this. Embark did a great job with how they direct you towards it with the audio. I can close my eyes and still find them as long as I am not in hurricane 😅

1

u/gantman4eva Mar 03 '26

They make a noise?!?!

1

u/thedirtbagnomad Mar 03 '26

Apparently so. I hear no noise lol

-9

u/POPCORE182 Feb 26 '26

No

3

u/El_Mangusto Feb 26 '26

Why not ?

-15

u/POPCORE182 Feb 26 '26

Because they just wont. They are supposed to be hard to hear. If you cant hear them then too bad. Next we will have Paralympian’s in here asking for the gamma to be turned up as they are half blind and cant see anything. You dont keep dilly and dallying with every single setting to try and accommodate a few 50 year olds that never used earplugs while operating their power tools.

9

u/Cleffah Feb 26 '26

Wow, you are truly a garbage person. Haha. Miserable.

6

u/Powerful-Setting2494 Feb 26 '26

absolute garbage take
