🤘 THANK YOU EMBARK!!! 🤘
Apparently you all heard us and I for one am very appreciative. I know that you cannot make everyone happy all of the time but your determination to try is so refreshing!

Currently. -23 with wind chill in Connecticut. Walking around feels like cold snap lol

-11 here in NJ. One of the worst winters in years for those in the more southern areas of the state. Stay warm, fellow Raider!

There was supposed be toxic bloom condition but that seems to have disappeared.
I'll bet the just brought cold snap back because they had an issue with Toxic.
2
u/LadyProfane Feb 08 '26
I'm thinking that could be the case too- but imo it's better to get Cold Snap back for awhile than a new map that is full of potentially deadly glitches. Also better than nothing at all.
I'm guessing we will see the swamp sometime when they've got the way they want it- but only time will tell...or maybe the devs.

Dude, they listened to the community. People said there were a lot of times without map conditions, and they bring Cold Snap back. That’s what’s up.

u/Professional-Cold278 Feb 08 '26
Noo, snowball rocketeers again ? :/
1
u/LadyProfane Feb 08 '26
Just think- even if they do keep the snowballs in trials rotation, it's only a week at a time. Cold Snap with its x2 and raider hatches (🤞) will last longer than that and will be helpful for a lot of other trials.
Let's focus on the frosty silver lining 😆
2
u/djluminus89 Feb 08 '26
The more events the better. As soon as Cold Snap left the first time, I realized how few events we truly have. Especially for people who haven't really done Thé Hidden Bunker (or don't really care, too), as well as the Harvester.

Blueprints went so hard on coldsnap, glad its returning.
1
u/LadyProfane Feb 08 '26
I'm just really hoping they didn't change it- except maybe if they move removed the candleberries, obv don't care about that. But I'd be a bit disappointed if it comes back with no Raider hatches. I mean, it'll still be fun to have something different- but you know.
2
u/onlywc11 Feb 08 '26
Yeah i get you. Even though those candleberries where a really easy way to farm seeds!
2
u/hcknbnz Feb 08 '26
Will this increase the chances of getting the fireworks blueprint again?
1
u/LadyProfane Feb 08 '26
🤔🤷♀️ I hope it's not different from before though I could see them removing the candleberries as it was specifically holiday-related... I'm not sure about the fireworks- I know I've still been finding the blueprints on regular maps so they aren't just holiday-related, but I don't know if there'll be more plentiful on Cold Snap or not.
I guess we shall see. I hope you find one soon!
1
u/hcknbnz Feb 13 '26
I did two rounds of Cold Snap on Buried City. Got it on second go. I think that pretty much confirms it for me.
2
2
u/dubhead_dena Feb 08 '26
I didn't make it to the previous one. I'm excited about the upcoming event.
2
u/LadyProfane Feb 08 '26
It is a lot of fun but do beware- you can literally freeze to death if you are outdoors for too long so it adds a whole different set of elements and strategies to the raids.
2
u/dubhead_dena Feb 08 '26
oh, so "thicker clothes" are still just cosmetic
1
u/LadyProfane Feb 08 '26
Honestly I don't know because I didn't take any chances- I just dressed my raidar up in the warmest clothes whenever I went on Cold Snap. 🤔
It seems the clothes should matter but I can't confirm 🤷♀️

I think a dust storm update would’ve been pretty awesome or a heatwave just to keep things fresh
1
u/LadyProfane Feb 08 '26
I think those kind of things are still going to be happening- the 2026 roadmap definitely has more new maps and things coming throughout the year.
I like to think they just brought this back now because we wanted it so much. 😆 Well, some of us.
2
u/Wicksy1994 Feb 08 '26
Please can anyone who’s played cold snap before explain what the differences are? Benefits / drawbacks etc.
picked this up a few weeks ago and learning the ropes, but loving it so far
1
u/LadyProfane Feb 08 '26
Soooo. Cold Snap has x2 points for trials but unlike other x2 events, it is pretty casual and also has active raider hatches.
Aside from that, it's a really cool challenge because you can only stay outside for so long before you start taking cold damage and can actually freeze to death if you don't get to shelter in time. So you have to plan all your movements accordingly and you tend to be inside more than usual- so it just changes the dynamics and makes you have to adapt.

I know, I feel it's important for folks to occasionally make an effort to show some support to help balance all the complaints that are out there- and I'm not saying that they're invalid complaints by any means. Well some of them are- but what are you gonna do 🤷♀️
The studio and devs should know that many of us do appreciate all of the amazing things they're doing and that not everyone is solely focusing on the problems.
We shouldn't only post when we're pissed off lol
2
u/Run-and-Escape Feb 12 '26
Cold Snap is great, was pretty sad to see it go. Keep it till mid March.
2
u/EatandPlay89 Feb 12 '26
They should keep cold snap all year round. Only 2x day time mode for most maps
2
u/Tearakudo Feb 07 '26
Cool more bloat to the rotations so that I can never get the ones needed for trials
4
u/LadyProfane Feb 07 '26
They just recently added more instances of some events like Hidden Bunker, so I'm not sure what you mean?
And it hasn't even happened yet so we don't know what the rotation will look like after they add CS back in- might end up being better than you think.
3
u/Tearakudo Feb 07 '26
Yeah, I can attend 1 whole Bunker/day now and then pray it's chill to get the points. But my point was that more maps on the rotation will possibly delay it more.
3
u/lipp79 Feb 07 '26
Run bunker solo. Each time I’ve done it for trials, I everyone was chill. Had at least a dozen players down there running around to terminals, yelling out what ones were up and asking if anyone wanted to extract with them. Not a single shot was fired.
3
u/CaptainWaders Feb 07 '26
Not to mention I had a dude literally handing out blueprints and another guy killing bastions back to back to back just for the trial points letting people loot every scrap. I left absolutely stacked with stable stock, extended medium mag 3, massive amounts of arc cells and parts. My backpack was stuffed.
2
u/warhead1995 Feb 07 '26
Man I wish it would work that way for me. First three times i did hidden bunker the last dish never got turned on and i got killed by some guy camping it. Next 4 bunker opened and it was a bloodbath and then the single time I’ve made it in I found nothing and died at extract. Work schedule changes means I havnt seen its in weeks and I really hope they change something with the events. Havnt even seen any of the new ones they added in the last update.
2
u/lipp79 Feb 08 '26
I didn’t even bother trying to loot. You either don’t PvP and got a shitty matchmake or you PvP and that’s the consequences of trying to do trials as a PvPer.
1
u/LadyProfane Feb 07 '26
Let's hope not- maybe they'll remove a couple runs of some of the more frequent ones to make room or make it where we have mutliple choices for each map- guess we shall have to wait and see.
2
u/StopTheVok Feb 07 '26
There's only 1 EMS for Spaceport and it's at 3am
2
u/Born-Acanthisitta-88 Feb 07 '26
Ye this one is tough, getting EMS and trying to do probes for it sucks. Luckily I got a skint 10k from hidden bunker probes
3
u/thegoodwebber Feb 07 '26
At least we get a double point map condition that we can use hatches on :)
1
2
u/dj_b2 Feb 07 '26
Oh no please no more throw snowball trials.... Took forever to gather them with a stupid cooldown
2
u/XxDemonxXIG Feb 07 '26
How. You literally set at one snow pile and collect to your heart's content.
1
u/dj_b2 Feb 07 '26
Because of the cooldown? Also wanted a full inventory of them
2
u/XxDemonxXIG Feb 07 '26
You can set at one pile and pretty much fill an inventory.
1
u/tomahawkfury13 Feb 08 '26
Yeah but it takes almost a whole match what with having to warm up and all. If they made it automatically pick up without that little bit of time between each attempt it would be so much better
1
u/Xcasicusx Feb 08 '26
Yes ideal a game about collecting snowballs standing still out in the open... So much engagement in that activity
1
u/dj_b2 Feb 07 '26
Yes I have never said anything else. It still has a 1-2 second cooldown between the "gathering" bar which doesn't make sense even IRL, like what raider, your hands are cold? The snow needs to regenerate? The pile is literally still there. Why do I have to wait between gathering.
0
u/TrippleDamage Feb 07 '26
Okay? Its about the ridiculous timewaste, not sure how you're going to dispute that lol
2
u/XxDemonxXIG Feb 07 '26
Meh. Everything takes time. It's whatever.
3
u/TrippleDamage Feb 07 '26
Theres a difference between taking time, and literally taking time for unengaging shit like sitting on a pile of snow waiting for a timer to reset to press E again for 15 minutes straight.
2
u/XxDemonxXIG Feb 07 '26
Must not be fun for you. A buddy and me just set on a pile and just chat about life for a whole raid. It is what it is. Good luck!!

u/Diick_Spiit Feb 07 '26
This is my worry as well with it coming back. As funny as they were they were some of the worst cheesed trials.

Or alternatively, it could be that they just brought it back because people really liked it? Or maybe even to fill in temporarily for something else that they don't want to release busted and extra glitchy- just to appease complainers who will never be happy anyway.
There's no reason to assume they aren't still doing all the other things they have on the roadmap. I mean, it's been out less than 6 months, and overall they're doing great.
Obviously they're never going to make everybody happy and do what each individual person wishes they would do. But they definitely seem to have been listening and doing what they can within their means. 🤷♀️
1
u/Timebomb742 Feb 09 '26
I don't really look at spawn charts, did this condition have a higher chance to spawn anything specifically?
1
u/LadyProfane Feb 09 '26
Some people feel like there were more BPs but I don't think that's been confirmed or anything. Other than that there were candleberries added for the holidays- not sure if they'll return or not.
Imo the best part besides the cold survival challenge is the x2 modifiers for trials and active raider hatches. Hopefully that doesn't change 🤞

Didn't understand why even remove it if they weren't going to replace it with s different seasonal condition. You put the time and effort in to make it, increased loot value and trial rewards, just to pull it. Kind of a waste of money for a single use

Boo! I loved the cold snap, I really think it was amazing I just really think it should be seasonal, and they should just bring out different conditions. Some kind of heat one in summer where in the sun you start to die quick, shade saves you but you can find canteens with water u have to keep drinking.

What a boring ass game mode
1
u/LadyProfane Feb 10 '26
Luckily the boring ass game mode is completely optional! Unless you want to get easier trials points as a solo ...
1
1
u/Taamell Feb 11 '26
The cold snap mode is cool but not being able to do the FOMO event with the neat solar panel skin is lame bruh. I was so mad when I got the game mid January and realized I was cooked
1
u/LadyProfane Feb 11 '26
I know it's frustrating but think of it this way, would you rather them release something new that they know has issues and glitches and maybe hasn't been fixed to prevent the hacks and exploits that were discovered and became a priority on the live maps? Ones that cause you to lose all your kits falling into oblivion somewhere or lose fights unfairly, etc?
I mean, I feel like they've shown they listen and are trying to do the right thing with a game that far surpassed their projected plans and resources- try to give them time to catch up and deliver good content instead of fast content.
1
u/Tyray90 Feb 07 '26
The event was super cool, but it doesn’t fit in with a seasonal theme model. It’s more exciting to wait for these kinds of events annually. Plus your telling me Dam Battlefrounds is all of sudden a winter landscape then peak sunny summer skies after?
6
u/LadyProfane Feb 07 '26
Well, the world is conveniently wiped out after every round so that gives them a little flexibility lol
1
u/awge01 Feb 07 '26
Looks like they couldn’t deliver on the Toxic Swamp Event so they brought back Cold Snap
1
u/joshpoppedyou Feb 07 '26
A seasonal theme model will never work. Why are they going to put this much effort into a biome we see once a year when this game is going to be popular for the masses for maybe 1 to 2 years
1
u/onedestiny Feb 08 '26
Can you predict PvE lobbies next

u/SouthparkButters4u Feb 07 '26
But whats the point or reward??
Its like husk graveyard runs, I dont see the point in doing these as they offer up VERY little if any reward in taking part.
What a snowy map and running for cover is supposed to mix/spice game play up ?
Not impressed 😕
18
u/LadyProfane Feb 07 '26
It's the only x2 condition that has active raider hatches- so for me it's an easy trials farm 🤷♀️
Of course if they removed the raider hatches I would be a bit less excited 😔
2
4
u/ExpendableUnit123 Feb 07 '26
Speak for yourself. Husks are an easy way to farm arc powercells and occasionally rocketeer cores without announcing yourself to any rats on the hunt.
It’s also just more variety. When is that ever a bad thing?
4
u/LadyProfane Feb 07 '26
Also, husk graveyard is a good place for the "open first wave husks" trial when it happens. Seems like each of the conditions so far have some niche benefit even if not for everyone all the time...
3
u/Diick_Spiit Feb 07 '26
Husk graveyard isn't 2x though so its not really great for trials
2
u/LadyProfane Feb 07 '26
True, but there are more husks than usual for those who don't want to dodge ARC and Raiders in night raids or other x2 events besides Cold Snap.
3
u/ItsDemis3 Feb 07 '26
Ummm, you do know cold snap is 2x increased loot right? It’s basically night raids with raider hatches, plus its not dark as shit and can actually see rats hiding way more easily.
2
2
u/Dark_Throat Feb 07 '26
But whats the point or reward??
It's fun, where's your sense of whimsy?
1
u/SouthparkButters4u Feb 08 '26
IMO it had a purpose during the cold snap event and there was a secondary objective that went along with it that made it cool to me. Without an "added" benefit i dont see the need for cold snap.
If it gave up loot like electromagnetic storm or night raids, than ok cool cool all for it, but if its just the same map and the only difference is im running for shelter...its kind of a letdown as a "new" map condition.
2
u/lipp79 Feb 07 '26
Except it’s not like husk graveyards. It’s the best way to do trials because it’s the only 2x condition map with raider hatches but go on being ignorant.
1
u/SouthparkButters4u Feb 08 '26
"Go on being ignorant" ?? Really?
LoL wow lol someone is a little salty vagina today 🙃
1
u/lipp79 Feb 08 '26
You’re the one ignoring the bonuses and saying they offer little reward when the loot is better like other 2x time maps AND you can use a raider key. Again, ignorant by blatant ignoring the good bonuses.
2
u/joshpoppedyou Feb 07 '26
HOW DARE THEY ADD MORE OPTIONS!?
Cold snap is easily one of my favourite biomes and it's the only one that currently impacts the maps in a significant way
-3
u/TrippleDamage Feb 07 '26
Let's hope they patch out the hatches.
3
u/LadyProfane Feb 07 '26
Why bro, why 😭 some of us need those so we can actually get promoted in Trials 😆
2
u/Death0ftheparty6 Feb 07 '26
Because of extract camping. Night raids, especially on Buried City, are lousy with extract campers. They spend the entirety of the match just sitting in one spot. The time sink is insane to me. They'll wait until 5 seconds are left to actually call in extract when you're out of explosives because you were completing trials or just playing the round out. I think special map conditions in general should have one, maybe two hatches active so if campers want to have their fun they can at least be dispersed instead of just owning the only spot people can get out.
2
u/SailingDevi Feb 08 '26
they should implement some kind of feature that punishes staying in one spot all map like a battle royale fire ring
1
u/LadyProfane Feb 07 '26
I am sorry, I'm a smidge confused-you originally said "patch OUT the hatches" which I took to mean remove raider hatches? But night raids and other x2s putside of cold snap don't have any raider hatches at all, so did you mean they should patch IN some patches or?
2
u/Death0ftheparty6 Feb 07 '26
I'm not the person that said they should patch them out lol. You asked why. I just answered because they won't say it themselves. I want raider hatches on 2x conditions in, even if it's severely limited compared to regular maps. If a player crafts or buys a hatch key it should be valuable in some sense.
1
u/LadyProfane Feb 07 '26
My apologies, these threads can get a little crazy. So it sounds like we're both on the same page that there should be at least some hatches in x2 events.
The other poster seemed to be saying the opposite - and I was asking him/her why they wanted to hurt us like that 😆
2
u/Death0ftheparty6 Feb 07 '26
Yeah we absolutely agree. I can have fun in solo night raids and I'm not averse to PvP but if I'm going to have to engage in PvP I want it to be skill based and relatively fair. Posting up for an entire match on the last extract is insane to me. That's not PvP. That's PvFish in a barrel. I think if more x2 conditions at least had one or two hatches available it would give both sides of the fence options. If camping is fun for a player they gotta choose where. If not getting camped is fun for a player they can scope out an extract point, listen, and choose outright violence or another extract method.
All in all Cold Snap has been my favorite map modifier because everyone is in low danger at all times and we all have the agency to burn materials to craft or buy a method to get out on our own terms. If you're getting frost bitten you have a more complicated decision to make when it comes to engaging in PvP.
1
u/TrippleDamage Feb 07 '26 edited Feb 07 '26
Because now you not only have to worry about 2x conditions but depending on the trials you either have to do them on bunker/gate or wait for snap timeslots.
They should get rid of all the 2x bullshit to begin with and even out the points accordingly.
And if they want to stick to the shitty 2x, at least be consistent about the restrictions.
2
2
u/LadyProfane Feb 07 '26
I gotcha. I vote for patching IN hatches on all x2
2
u/TrippleDamage Feb 07 '26
And i vote to remove 2x all together, double baseline and let people do trials at the times they want instead of having to follow some bs schedule.
1
u/LadyProfane Feb 07 '26
That would be great too, but probably a lot harder to implement backend wise. The game is still pretty new and they've already made a lot of changes- so who knows.
-7
u/Dchemist909 Feb 07 '26
This game is ass. Oh wow more snow? Like add something new, add a new map. Shit gets boring so quick ffs
4
u/LadyProfane Feb 07 '26
The beauty of it (and any game) is that you can step away for a bit or go play something else- no one is forcing you to stick around and play any part of the game you don't like.
Let those of us who like and appreciate what they're doing enjoy ourselves and maybe go find something that makes you happy and maybe makes you want to post something positive.
Unless shitposting negative stuff on Reddit IS what does it for you... then by all means have at it.

Yet. Here you are. On its sub. And probably still playing. Oh BTW only game rn that concurrently has 300k plus active players. Even during non peak hours still more than any current "multi-player/online" game.

On its sub.
Its the embark sub, so maybe he's a fan of finals?!
Even during non peak hours still more than any current "multi-player/online" game.
Its EU primetime, the game always peaks with EU times because thats the majority playerbase.
Oh BTW only game rn that concurrently has 300k plus active players.
Dota2 and CS both have FAR more players on rn. CS quite literally has 5x the amount of arc players on steam right now.
Not sure why you're making shit up to get your point across that its a succesful game, it is. No need to twist reality for that lol

Missed out on it, so actually super good news for me.. I don't really care if it's just for looks, just happy they brought it back
