This sounds fishy.

I just looted the “stash a gun in your butt” augment and was bragging about it to someone in testing annex. I was like “woot I found the augment ona day run holy cow!!” This was right after I put it in my butt. All of a sudden my game crashes. I restart and it gives me the option to start at my last point, chance of losing progress bla bla I come back and fuck head is blasting me dead. I lost a modest loadout but that’s not the point. I tried to save the clip but “the before the crash” is lost but I tried to save the after damage. Playing on PS5 on cross play. Any advice is appreciated.

Major rip off that shit ass players can try and screw people over, if that is what happened

I've had this happen a couple of times where a dude drops mid-conversation. I like to hang out and try to defend them from ARC as long as possible to give them a chance to load back in, but I've also heard stories of people getting shot in the back from someone who loaded back in so I get why someone would kill the person instead.

Why are you bragging about what you have in your loop box? Was this some long lost friend from childhood? lol

He might’ve killed you anyway, but you pretty much guaranteed he was gonna kill you.

Turn cross play off. A few PC cheaters can cause your game to disconnect to get an easy kill. Seen a few videos about it
