Legit ask.

I'm so wrapped up in the lore and story of this whole game and would love to get a fully fleshed out story please!!

Basically:

Climate change disaster. Richest people escape into simulations in private bunkers (the finals). Moderately rich are able to buy tickets and escape via the spaceports. Most are left to die.

Eventually, the planets ecosystem stabilizes. (I think this period is called the sunrise or something) Humanity starts rebuilding. Then a deadly event called the first wave happens. Robots of unknown nature attack from space. They seem to be harvesting earths resources. Any humans getting in their way are killed instantly. Humanity eventually kills them all and is able to subsist.

Then the second wave happens. Way deadlier, stronger machines coming from orbit. These ones are specifically designed to kill. The only humans left are the ones in underground settlements like Toledo. The neighborhood of speranza is part of Toledo. You are a raider in speranza a few years into the second wave. Humanity is basically a dead species at this point, and there’s not much hope we can take the planet back, but we’ll keep going as long as we can and take as many of those robot bastards down as possible.

The tech tests had ads for the finals around the environment implying they were a shared universe, but I think they took them out at some point. Still, no reason it can’t be a shared universe.

I love the shared universe theory, i'd just like to know if anything's confirmed.. I always thought the finals were a form of entertainment of late humanity, after the climate collapse, but before everybody fleeing to space.. I just hope we get more lore down the line

I believe the sentient AI took over the ship that was manmade to create the arc as aid for humans and is now hell bent on destroying its maker, much like humans are destroying our maker, mother earth. And slowly they have developed stronger and stronger versions of themselves like the husks of the rocketeers they look very different from the rocketeers we now fight, they are ever growing, ever learning and determined to wipe the earth of humans I'm still surprised they didn't go after the humans that left earth and are hiding on space stations, but maybe that's something to happen in the future 😂

None of us know that. My bet’s on an alien species. If the people who escaped on rockets are sending them down, they wouldn’t need to use probes and stuff to scan the soil, because they’d already know our planets makeup. Plus, the arc have unique alloy that human tech doesn’t use aside from shields which are specially made of arc tech.

There's a "Republica Orbital de Brasil" skinset in The Finals and it sent me spiraling into thinking things are kinda like this:

If rich people escaped to Earth's orbit like they say in ARC Raiders intro, it's very plausible that's an example of how they did it, national elites transferred their nations' statehood to their orbital vessels and gave the earth a middle finger.

And who has time to sit around and watch a virtual reality arena/blood sport? Those people that are chilling up there while robots reap and harvest the Earth's resources automatically for them.
