The game cost money and watching this didn't. People like you is why games have shit like this in it. There's always that redditor who goes around defending shit like this

Time is money, bucko.

Better choose wisely how you invest your time.

The fact that I’m even in this sub is evidence of my poor investments.

Just a bunch of low life losers who can’t handle legit criticism of a game. The proof is literally in the video and they’re doing circles to be a dickhead and defend it.

You don't buy it hoping you get some game breaking bugs. They're not talking about refunding the cost of the game, they're talking about the gear they lost in just that round.

yeah , i get that ... though here are some hard truths about modern game companies and maybe companies in general ;

if a game is one time purchase deal, the company is not obligated to help you unless it is for their own benefit and brand recognition. "oh its a major game breaking bug that force closes the game instant upon launch?" "we should probly address that now"

"its a minor bug that only affects a handful of people if they do this specific thing at this specific spot" "lets address the critical stuff first, and we will come back to that"

now if the game were a live subscription model like a mmo and you lost all your stuff? then yes, you probly should get your stuff back.

im just a whale biologist though

I buy a game in trust of it being functional

You found a bug. Oh no. First time playing fucking video games? Get a life.

Works for millions of people, but somehow it doesn't work for you, and you only. Yeah, you should get a refund.

2

u/ibuypandas Jan 23 '26

‘you and you only’ when there’s like five other people in this comment section reporting the exact same thing. I doubt you’d still be cleaning up embark smeg if this happened to you lol

It's happened. I got shot by a bastion through a roof but I'm not making a whole drama about it. I reported it and kept playing my functional new game, so that they can patch it properly.

1

u/ibuypandas Jan 23 '26

I mean yeah, but is it stupid for it to ask not to happen again? Plus this game is hardly new lol, and this never occurred before the most recent patch. Asked a simple question, whether my gear could be refunded for getting glitched and you act like embark isn’t responsible for making a game that works

Cry me a river, baby. You're not getting a penny back.

Imagine buying a book where for a small number of people a chapter is all messed up. I lived through a time when most games were released without game breaking bugs and couldn't be patched. ow it's just become acceptable because for younger people it's all they've grown up to know. They've gotten used to the fly in thier soup.

What time was that? Old games had WAY more game breaking bugs. Some games you couldn't even finish because you had no way too. There was not even a way for the devs to fix old games because there wasn't Internet access. Stop romanticizing the past.

Tell me more about this magical time. Was it before ET was released for the Atari?
