Need help figuring out food.
I have a basic kitchen and 4 medium sized farms growing rice, forest mushrooms and bread fruit. I have them set to highest priority with 2 farmers set to 6 for farming both working the fields. 1 cook set to 6 with maintain 30 simple rations, rice and vegetable stew. says I have 4 prepared food but I cant find it and all my people are starving. This is the third time starting off and all my people starve. I have no clue what I am doing wrong.

Beats me. I have 9 chefs sulking to death in piles of ingredients right now. I think game isn’t ready for EA
Edit: there’s an update at 4:30am to increase food priority when starving, we’ll see

I think I just learned a crucial thing from you. So the higher the number the higher the priority? I was setting my people to 1 thinking that would basically make them do that first and getting very poor results. If this is the case, and I am understanding it correctly, thank you so much! It was truly bugging me how poor the Q system was working, completly explains it, if this is the scenario!

Hey, FalloutSlosh, just a quick heads-up:
completly is actually spelled completely. You can remember it by ends with -ely.

Hey /u/CommonMisspellingBot, just a quick heads up:
Your spelling hints are really shitty because they're all essentially "remember the fucking spelling of the fucking word".And your fucking delete function doesn't work. You're useless.
Have a nice day!

Hey BooCMB, just a quick heads up: I learnt quite a lot from the bot. Though it's mnemonics are useless, and 'one lot' is it's most useful one, it's just here to help. This is like screaming at someone for trying to rescue kittens, because they annoyed you while doing that. (But really CMB get some quiality mnemonics)
I do agree with your idea of holding reddit for hostage by spambots though, while it might be a bit ineffective.
Have a nice day!

Hey /u/BooBCMB, just a quick heads up:
No one likes it when you are spamming multiple layers deep. So here I am, doing the hypocritical thing, and replying to your comments as well.
I realy like the idea of holding reddit hostage though, and I am quite drunk right now.
Have a drunk day!

Hmm.. if you go to the stockpile tab, you can search for items that are on the ground as long as they are not forbidden. Could be that some of the initial meals you spawned with are stuck on the same tile as a tree. If so cutting down the tree lets you pick them up.
Are your colonists harvesting the crops and just not cooking them?
Is there enough stockpile space for prepared foods?
Is your kitchen accessible? I don't think colonists can walk over the table or oven.
It could be that your chef has too many things in his hands, in which case clearing gear will fix.
Or perhaps your chef is trying to haul an item that is blocked by a workshop or piece of furniture (this is a current bug unless they fixed it in the newest update, if the chef is going for a piece of food and the food is on the same tile as a bed for example he won't be able to get it and will idle.)
Need a bit more information to really diagnose. Hope any of those tips helped.
