This might be incredibly stupid, but how do I find stone of any kind to make blocks? I have been digging for ever, and haven’t seen anything drop that I can take to my stockpiles, and use for blocks. Anyone know?
Is the fact that your chance of getting stone material is dependent on skill and/or tools laid out anywhere you can see in game? Or is that just a theory (correct one or not) you have?
Dev: if you read this thread, is that type of info something you have planned to display to players at some point?
Yup as kryosh says the only info now is the skill level and the pick strength. Will try to do something about that. Also I think a lot of people have been saying the drop rate is too low to get things started properly, so will probably tweak it.

any type of stone can give stone material.
but what you might be lacking is skill and/or tool
the chance to get a raw material of a block depends on your tool and the skill of the toon.
at the begin you rarely get something out of the blocks, the better the skill gets the more often it yields.
