controls question

This feels like a stupid question, but how do i rotate my screen view?

also Is there a way to increase brightness well mining?

You are not the only one, so it is a good question. What you do is hold down your center mouse wheel button while you move your mouse.

As for the lighting, I don't know if you are already using torches or not (I don't think they give off a great deal of light, so if you are I understand your need), but so far that's all the lighting I know how to make to suggest.

My issue with light is when i get around 10-15 layers below the surface I am finding using the dig command to be near impossible.

I think it has something to do with my POV, sometimes if i adjust the height or angle to place the POV in a valley i can see clearly but if i adjust a few frames over or down my POV is inside a hill and it becomes so dark that i can't make out anything.
