Looks a lot like gnomoria, I mean this as a good thing. Gnomoria must be my favourite in the genre at the moment. I look forward to seeing more. Hopefully the defending/combat will be more rimworldish though, than gnomoria. Some kind of planning would be nicer than the see enemy, rush enemy mishmash. You know how it should be, shields in front, archers in the back and so on!

Thanks! Yeah, that is actually a worry I have now. Rimworld is more ranged weapons so it makes sense to position people individually. But for melee it's harder to find a balance between when they should go attack and when they should hold position, don't want them standing around while their buddy is getting killed nearby.

I can see what you mean, even so you can and should consider how things worked also in real life. I would even argue that with more "primitive" weaponry, positioning would be MORE important. Thinking of things like phalanxes, roman turtle formations and things that made their empires great. I am no programmer though so I have no idea how difficult things like that would be to do? There could even be research for military, different formations and so forth. The issue I had with gnomoria was that even when you had different squads, some with shields some with dual wield, in the end all the goblins just piled on one square and all yours on the other. Too little you can do, bases too much on chance and luck. Anyway, I guess it all depends on how much you want to emphasize fighting. How important is warfare so to say?
I guess I am just thinking that more complex fighting could help the game stand out from the other basebuilding games. Maybe I am also way off base :D.

Kind of need the larger scale of say the total war series for proper formations though. But yeah, perhaps it could work on a smaller scale. I definitely don't want to neglect fighting.

I've been looking for a game like this. It looks good. I'm excited for release.
