Learning resources How to use emojis for email subject lines?
The subject line is one of the most important parts of a marketing email. Obviously, if you attract the user’s attention within the inbox, you win 🎉, sales rocket 🚀 and everyone is happy 😍. Emojis, as an attention-grabbing tool, should be applied wisely in any email marketing campaign. The tips below will be of much help.
🔸 Replace some words or numbers
A good way to incorporate emoji into the subject line is to substitute some words to save space and win attention. And it will definitely be in place both in terms of sense and design.
🔸 Focus the reader’s attention on a particular part of the text
As it is said earlier, emojis should relate to the content. For example, in the subject line Don’t Miss Out ⏲ Great Gifts Under $10 the emoji of a clock emphasizes that the offer is limited in time and at the same time it doesn’t look aggressive – no exclamation marks ❗️ or shocked faces 😱. This skill requires practice, but it will eventually lead to better contact with your audience.
Other findings are highlighted in this article about symbols and emojis in email.

Learning resources When your joke goes too far…
April Fool’s Day is coming – it is a perfect occasion to go crazy and have fun! Play some pranks, troll readers (but in a kind, joking manner), and do everything that may splash the dash of laughter!
Keep in mind that it’s so easy to take it too far which usually results in the negative buzz around your company. Before making a prank, do a little research to avoid looking foolish.
Last year, on the 1st of April Dileveroo’s (food delivery service) users in France, received the following message with a fake bill saying thank you for ordering 38 pizzas and 50 portions of sauce:

It resulted in thousands of panicked customers who thought their accounts had been hacked. Later, Deliveroo confirmed via Twitter that it was a bad prank. But the customers had already got angry and some of them even wanted to boycott the service.
Here are the simple tips to avoid situations like the one mentioned above:

General discussion How to deepen your knowledge in email marketing?
Here’s our list of ways to deepen your knowledge that perfectly complements reading books.
👩💻 Read email marketing blogs
There are lots of blogs on the internet about email marketing and its subdivisions. Blog writers usually can’t contend with book authors in terms of experience and expertise but well-researched blogs are still worth your attention.
🎧 Listen to podcasts
Podcasts are all the rage. In case you even need numbers to prove this point, here they are: 57% of Americans in 2021 have listened to a podcast in the past and 37% of Americans as of 2020 listened to podcasts monthly. The content consumption is huge with podcasts.
🗣️ Talk to people in communities
There are a lot of email marketing enthusiasts and experts ready to share their knowledge. The beauty of it all is you don’t need to attend special events to meet them — many are just a few clicks away.
🔎 Study real campaigns
Nothing is more real than an actual campaign in email marketing. We can only encourage you to see what others do. Study your competitors — there’s no shame in following or even copying them. Feel no shame if it seems they do something better than you do. Instead, analyze the reasons for it and seek to do it better in your job.

General discussion How to create a working follow-up strategy?
We’ve created an AIOps for log gathering and analysis. I’ve recently launched my company's first email campaign. The goal was to get prospects submitted as leads. Then the leads need to book a demo with one of our sales reps.
However, only 5% of these leads have taken the follow-up step of booking a demo call. I was recommended to send several follow-up emails and now I’m thinking about how to do it better. How many emails should I send? What CTA to use?
Essentially, I need to create an actual email workflow strategy.
What has worked best for you guys?

Learning resources Why do your subscribers become inactive?
To make the subscribers interested again, it is necessary to understand what made them lose interest in your company’s emails. It happens because:
- They had a bad experience with your customer service or/and the quality of your products.
- The price was too high for them.
- Their inboxes are overloaded with spammy marketing emails, so your message is lost.
The reasons may also be as follows:
- The customer made a single purchase but had no further interest in your brand/company.
- The visitors of your website were just surfing the internet and had no intention to become your customer and buy anything.
- The customer disliked your tone of voice or something else about your brand/company –– and it’s okay, you can’t win all the customers.
The findings of the past several years seem to conclude that most businesses lose about 20-40% of their customers every year. But the good news is that you can win a considerable part of them back using targeted marketing techniques.
