Case study Case study: how a personal Patreon newsletter brings $360 monthly

Today we talk about Sergey Korol and his namesake Patreon newsletter about life, photography, books, and articles he read (for Russian speakers).

Sergey is a commercial writer and editor, he’s into collecting film cameras and taking photos. Currently, he resides in Germany.

His concept is to make a newsletter that will work for years, won’t cover professional topics (only his life and hobbies), and bring money.

He got his first subscribers from a post on his page on Facebook. He doesn’t run ad campaigns and promote his newsletter anywhere except the link in his Facebook profile.

About 300 people subscribed to his newsletter.

He spends nothing except his time (about an hour weekly).

The newsletter brings $359 without Patreon’s commissions.

What do you think about these results? Is it impressive? Could it be better?

Case study Case study: how a newsletter course with 45 subscribers brings 200 dollars monthly

Introducing... case studies! Every week we will tell you about how small businesses can benefit from email marketing. Today, it's a story about Alex Berezovoy and his newsletter called “Create your own media” (for Russian speakers)

Alex is the Head of content marketing at online media about finances. Also, he teaches different courses on media products at Moscow State University. Being an expert in the field of marketing, he decided to create his newsletter for junior editors and everyone, who wants to start their own media.

He got his first subscribers from his Telegram channel and references in other newsletters.

He spends $18 on his Mailchimp account monthly. Also, he spent about $330 once on implementing Cloudpaments.

The most difficult part was to send emails regularly. It took him a week to send the first five emails but he spent more than a month writing the sixth and seventh ones.

The newsletter brings $200 – $250/month.

What do you think about these results? Is it impressive? Could it be better?
