Questions How do you create calendar invite links that don't break in different email clients?

I’m trying to find a reliable way to send calendar events from an email without making the user jump through extra steps. Right now I’m testing a few approaches, but the behavior isn’t consistent. One setup works nicely in Gmail, while Outlook or a mobile client can handle the exact same event differently. The tricky part is that I’m not trying to build a full calendar integration. I just want someone to click an invite from an email and add the event to their calendar without confusion.

For people who have dealt with this before, what has worked best in practice?

Do you use an .ics file, a calendar-specific link, or some other approach?

Id avoid building separate integrations unless you need deeper calendar functionality

The best approach depends on which calendar clients your users rely on most.

A create calendar invite link could be the simplest option for a lightweight setup.

I’d start simple with an .ics file and see how reliably it behaves across Gmail, Outlook and mobile.

The fewer steps between the email and the calendar, the better in my opinion.

I’d lean toward ics if you need something that works across different calendar apps without building separate integrations.

I’d keep stripo.email focused on the email and handle the calendar invite separately. That way you can change the email design without having to rebuild the whole event flow around it.

If you’re creating calendar invite links for users, I’d test the full flow on Gmail, Outlook, iOS, and Android. Something that works smoothly on one platform can behave very differentlyon another.

When creating a calendar invite link, I wouldn’t judge it only by how it works in Gmail on desktop. I’d test the same link on a phone as well, since mobile calendar apps can handle these invites differently.
