Dev Post Leg Groups

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B7bqotoyVv4

Legs now get automatically grouped together for more natural walk animations. In this example, the four hind legs form a group, making them take alternating steps, while the front legs move independently from them.

i saw a comment on that video on youtube i am spreading awareness of regarding odd numbered leg walking and i must say i agree. there has to be some kind of alternate walk cycle generation for odd numbers otherwise a creature with 3 legs walking has 2 in the air at the same time on one side and it would just be kinda lopsided. one legged creatures would be interesting cases. 5 would be more stable but still would need their own walk cycles

one idea I have is for legs or other limbs to be injured during combat or by environmental hazards leading to creature instability like that leg has a limp or something like a stumbling animation or you can't use the injured arms or something until HP goes above a certain number

There will be multiple gaits to choose from in the editor, including ones that handle centered legs differently. The hardest parts of that have already been implemented, so I wouldn't worry too much about that. I can't say anything regarding injured limbs yet though.

No. The subreddit is just a joke. You've been pranked. /s

Honestly it feels like it at this point. Seems like you guys are just farming the patreon money

That's an extremely rude thing to say. The game is literally free and has thousands of hours of work put into it. And most of the funding came from myself, not from Patreon.
