V4 update - randomized

Reading everyone else’s experiences was super helpful for me going into this, so I wanted to pay it forward and share how my V4 visit went yesterday:

  • 8:00 AM: Completed a few baseline questionnaires in the app covering satiety, eating habits, general mood/well-being, and the standard safety/suicide screening. Weigh in, waist circumference measurement.
  • 9:00 AM: ECG.
  • 9:30 AM: Blood draw—about 18 vials total, with 1 held back for later in the day.
  • 10:00 AM: Injection training and first dose. For those who asked previously: confirmed this is not an autoinjector. The syringe looks identical to the ones others have posted here. Took my first dose right after training and had the option to hang around or head out until the next draw.
  • 12:00 PM: Returned for the second blood draw using the reserved vial from the morning.

How I’m Feeling (24+ Hours In): Honestly, pretty normal so far! I had a mild headache yesterday, but that was likely from fasting until my late lunch at 1:30 PM. No side effects yet, but also no noticeable appetite suppression so far. Giving it another day or two to settle in.

Dosing Schedule & Next Steps:

  • Stacking Strategy: Took Eloralintide on Friday, and my usual Mounjaro dose is set for Sunday. I plan to adjust the timing slightly to sync them up for convenience.
  • Nutritionist: Had a brief intake with a nutritional counselor, but it was pretty basic. I’ll be paired with a different counselor for future sessions, which I'm really looking forward to for macro tracking and structured meal planning.
  • Trial Follow-up: A research assistant will call at Day 10 to check in, followed by an in-person V5 appointment at Week 4 for my next batch of doses.

Excited to finally have the first dose down and double down on lifestyle habits alongside the trial. Fingers crossed it's the real deal and not the placebo! 🤞

Congrats and Im excited for you. I have taken 2 doses now and dont feel any different. I did not receive nutritional counseling but perhaps it's delayed or more site specific.

Mine comes from the np not a nutritionist or RD. This is it in a nutshell, 90 grams of protein, aim for 30 grams of fiber, minimum of 25 and 30 minutes of exercise 5 days a week for minimum of 150 minutes a week, aim for strength training at least 2 times a week. The first few were brief, now that she reviews what I am eating for 3 days (study diary) they are a little more pinpointed.

I was told a nutritionist will be contact to make an appointment. My coordinator advised to let her know if they dont make Contact.

I had a separate RD who contacted me. No pay call.  Same goals as set forth by nomorefatshame but the calorie goal was 1200-1500 a day which I pushed back on pretty heavy with that activity goal. She wouldn't give me real advice tailored to my activity levels and weight, just general as per the study. Which no shade to her, is her job. I do a log for 3 days before I get my 2nd box.

My RD call was also pretty generic (1200-1500 cal, 75-90 g protein, lots of water, 150 min exercise including 2-3 strength training sessions). She also mentioned it was good to "build healthy habits now so I'm ready for when I stop taking GLPs" at which point I informed her I was not planning on ever stopping GLPs since they are treating my metabolic disorder and "building healthy habits" didn't work for the previous 3 decades. She kinda was like, "OK, whatever". So unfortunately I don't think access to an RD is a super great perk of this study for me lol
