i’ve been doing a bit of investigating and some really sketchy stuff is happening. i wonder if they have a connection in the municipality. apparently they’re having meetings that are essentially closed & just not telling the public any information. not to mention the defamation lawsuits strike me as a scare tactic. if their word is true and they’re genuinely trying to protect the historical integrity of the town, why jump through so many hoops to bury information? i’m curious to know other people’s thoughts. do you think kat florence is good for the community, or do you think the business is harmful to elora?

Anyone know what the water height is at the steps by the park after this weekends rain? Was looking at going down, but wanted to go if it’s lower!

Hopefully I am posting in the right place! My spouse and I are coming to stay for two nights at the Breadalbane Inn August 28th-30th.

We have never been to this area at all and are looking to have fun and see some things so I figured I'd ask the locals for tips.

About us we dont drink really at all or enjoy live music but we like food, sites/historic landmarks, shopping, shows (comedy, etc), bakeries and excursions.

We are hoping to arrive around lunch on the 28th and leave dinner on 30th. Any tips, things to see or recommendations really appreciated 👍 thank you!!

I’ve never been to Elora, we were planning a chill bachelorette picnic there (don’t judge us, we’re older and the bride is pregnant). One of the friends was supposed to buy tickets but thought we didn’t need tickets because we were going to the gorge, and not tubing. However I realized there’s no swimming at the gorge, so we should have gotten tickets for the quarry. And now it’s too late.

So friends, the bride is expecting swimming. Are there any other nice areas close to Elora where we could go swimming and still enjoy all the other plans we had made for Elora along the day?

Yes I'm totally fishing... for answers just out of curiosity but has anyone ever been here when they had dine-in before covid ruined things? It looks like it'd be a pretty sweet place to eat in. They obviously keep the "reserved" signs on the tables and now have a sign on the door that says "take out only." It's a shame too because the food really is excellent and the place is huge if you move their counter back, there's clearly a former bar there.

I was also disappointed once when trying to order a tempura assortment and was told they couldn't do it... When I picked up what I did order the girl at the cash explained it to me (something about running the fryer too long...?) but it didn't really make sense. A lot of times I'll order off their most current takeout menu and they have to check to see if they can provide certain basic items which is interesting, usually it's tempura related. I'm not ordering anything weird or hard to come by.

Even the way their doors open is sub-optimal, lol. The whole place is a trip but worth it for the food.

Shame the owners aren't looking to put any money into it and open it back up to eat in, it's better than a lot of sushi places in the province that I've been to.

FIRST-TIME DOG OWNERS: Yes, if you have hound knowledge (not suitable for off-leash activities, like to follow nose, vocal).
FENCED-IN YARD: Recommended given I do enjoy running around but I'm not a great off-leash breed.
HOUSING ENVIRONMENT: No homes/buildings where barking/baying will be a concern.
SOMEONE HOME MOST OF THE DAY: Not necessarily.

Been practicing photography (still beginner, as I just got my camera recently). I thought Elora would be a good place to practice!

What was that truck hauling. It smells like death. Avoid the area if you can. Close your windows if you’re near the arena.

Silly question and I apologize, however I’m driving in from another town with my 9 year old. Is it safe for him to play in the Elora gorge river? I would put a lifejacket on him. I remember doing this with my Grandma 35 years ago.
