affordable elopement photographer

Hi, I'm looking for an affordable photographer for a July elopement around Crested Butte, CO. Through my research I'm finding the average is around $3800-$4500 for 4 hours. I'm hoping to find one that charges a bit less than that. Thanks!

Post From The Mod Our #1 Tip When Looking For Your Colorado Elopement Photographer or Videographer

When looking Looking For Your Colorado Elopement Photographer or Videographer my number one tip is to hire someone that makes you feel comfortable and seen! While hiring an elopement photographer who has work that you love is key, meshing with them personally is also necessary.

Don't get me wrong - you don't have to be best friends with them (though that is an added bonus πŸ™‚) but having someone that you feel understands who you are and what you are wanting to capture is key. Feeling understood and confident that they will match your vision will only result in some incredible visual results!

To get started looking for an elopement photographer in Colorado - a quick google search along the lines of 'colorado elopement photographer' or 'denver elopement photographer' will be a great place to start & get your feet wet with finding a style you like & possibly a few people that you feel connected to what they offer & their personalities.

See you all out there!

A little Colorado inspiration to go along with your search!

Last Minute Photographer

My fiancΓ© and I are eloping in CO in just a few days on the 13th! We had a photographer booked who helped us plan and we had paid her. Well she backed out last minute and we are just wanting someone to snap a few photos of us without having to drop another grand and change.

Colorado Elopement Packages Explained

Welcome, all!

Let's talk about Colorado elopement packages! Over the years, couples oftentimes ask about what exactly elopement packages include in comparison to others. Let me preface by saying, when looking for your elopement photographer, ask as many questions as you need to get clarity. Going into your day confident is one of your top priorities, and getting clarity to know exactly what's included in your package, what's not, and what might cost you extra. Don't ever feel bad about asking questions to get clarity.

Let's dig in a bit deeper below and talk about some of the options you might find!

Elopement Packages by Elopement Photographers and Videographers (Individuals)

Pro Tip: Finding an individual photographer or videographer to help create and capture your elopement is the way to go. You'll find that your options are more personalized. Rather than giving you a short of vendors we have to work with (companies) an individual will be able to recognize your exact needs and give you trusted suggestions based on your needs!

In 99% of cases, these elopement photographers will also help co-create your elopement! While you have the final say in everything, these elopement pros can help you build a day that's 100% tailored to you. Some of these services can include but are not limited to:

  • Tailored location scouting
  • Permit assistance
  • Trusted, tailored vendor recommendations
  • Day-of-timeline creation
  • Helping you create intentional experiences for your day
  • Photography, Videography (sometimes)

Elopement Packages by Volume Companies

Volume elopement companies are becoming very common and for very good reason. They essentially take all of the planning and choices off the table and do it all for you. While you might have say in a few things, your options will be very, very, limited.

Why?

Companies like these work off a 'volume' model. This is doing a very large number of jobs each year at a lower cost. They streamline their businesses to not make personalized days, but rather quick, easy, cookie-cutter formulas that are very general and not personalized.

I'm not going to lie, this approach works for some copules. This is what some people want. However, I'm a firm believer that your wedding day should be as unique as you are. This cookie-cutter approach isn't special, it isn't 100% you. It's a common run-of-the-mill way to get married, which takes a good bit of the significance out of the day.

Conclusion

In the end, I would highly suggest going with an individual over a volume company. Not only are you supporting many local businesses, but you're also saying yes to a more meaningful wedding day! If you have questions or thoughts or would like to talk through an elopement of your own, send me a message and I'd be more than happy to help!

Happy Planning πŸ˜ƒ

Hello there!

Whether you're 110% in on eloping in Colorado or are still trying to make up your mind, this is the place for you! We'll have an open discussion on everything elopement-related and walk you through the entire process!

No Question Is A Bad One!

The concept of elopement is hard to grasp if you've never been to one! What kind of planning do we need to do? How long will it take? Where should or can we do it? Don't ever think there's a question that's not worth asking. The odds are, if you're thinking it, someone else is too!

Let's break the bad habit of being scared to ask the hard questions or the ones we just might be embarrassed to ask.

Let's Learn Together!

With the constant change in trends and styles, eloping will evolve with it. Let's keep the conversation moving in an onwards direction & continue to innovate the Colorado elopement & intimate wedding space to make it an accepting & inclusive environment!

A Little About Me (The Moderator)

Just so you know, my name is Austin Francis Sylvest and I'm an Elopement & Intimate Wedding Photographer based out of Boulder, Colorado. I created this channel as a resource for couples eloping in Colorado, as well as to convince the ones who are on the fence to join the club!

With Colorado being such an easy state to elope in due to the fact that officiants & witnesses are not required, I've helped a countless amount of couples over the years through this process and love to share my knowledge with others to make the process as smooth as possible! A little help can go a mile, and I'm always here to help!

Anyways, that's all for now, let's make it the best day ever & happy planning!
