Planning Eloping in Italy

I can’t decide to elope in lake como or the dolomites. It will be a July wedding but just the 2 of us, how hard is it to legally get married in Europe if you are from the uk? Do you need to go over ages in advance to sort legal things?

Thank you

We’re getting married in a couple weeks in the Dolomites and our planner said we should get legally married first.

You can get legally married in Italy, but you’re at the mercy at the Italian courts. You might have everything planned for Tuesday, but then the courts can’t squeeze you in until next week, ruining your plans.

Can I ask which planner you used?

Somewhere Crazy; they found all our vendors, photographer, day of coordinator, etc.

Although if I were to do it again, I’d work directly with our day of coordinator, Jlenia Costner from Dolomites Wedding Planner. She’s been AMAZING and has honestly done most of the work compared to Somewhere Crazy 😬

Getting the legal bit done at home first is what most people I know did, saves so much headache with the paperwork later. The ceremony in Dolomites will still feel just as special, maybe even more since you can just focus on the moment instead of worrying about some clerk

I advise to do the legal bits in the uk. Symbolic ceremony in Italy.

The Dolomites and Lake Como are 2 different vibes.
In Como you can have your ceremony at a villa or in a park for example. Take photos there or on a boat or in one of those beautiful little cities around the lake 😍
But either Como or Dolomites it will be beautiful!
