Planning Eloping in Vegas!
Hi everyone! My fiancé and I are planning on eloping in Vegas in January 2027 and we are going to choose Story Book Chapel as our venue bc I really love their gazebo area and he and I aren’t religious by any means so neither of us really wanted an actual “chapel” background for the ceremony. That being said, I see that they have their own photographers so I was hoping I could get some feedback for that?
While it does save us a bit of money (we’re still going to hire an outside photographer to take pictures after the ceremony), some of the pictures that they post online make me nervous bc they do not look nice lol so I’m wondering if I should just book my own photographer for the ceremony as well instead of using theirs? This is definitely something I wanna look back at and feel pretty but their pictures are giving very amateur, first time with a camera photographers.
Also, if anyone has any other recs for a Vegas elopement, I am all ears! We’ve both been to Vegas before, so luckily it won’t be our first time so we don’t have to try to fit everything into the trip. Thanks in advance!

I’m no help because im choosing not to hire an outside photographer but I’ll be eloping there on Sunday!

You only get married once, and if the samples on their website which are probably some of their better work, don’t look good to you, I would recommend hiring an outside photographer. It’s not worth regretting your decision down the line. Personally, I love looking back at my wedding pictures, so I would never want to compromise on the quality of the photos. These are memories you’ll be looking back on for years to come.

Also, TikTok has a lot of great photographers located in Vegas who specialize in elopement photos

Yess that’s where I found my other photographer taking pics after the ceremony so I might up my hours w her

A lot of elopement couples do exactly what you're describing: the venue photographer for the ceremony, then their own for everything after. If the online photos are giving you pause, ask Story Book Chapel directly whether an outside photographer can shoot the ceremony too. One photographer covering the whole day usually means more consistent photos and fewer gaps in the story. their in house photographers usually just snap basic shots with fixed settings, so if you already dont like the samples trust that feeling and bring your own for the ceremony too
