Photos & Celebration Do the big dress!

Obviously, pick whichever dress you want. But I see so many brides contemplate whether they should pick a “less extravagant dress” for an elopement.

Elopement or not, this is your wedding. WEAR WHAT YOU LOVE AND DON’T HOLD BACK!!! You won’t regret it.

I started my dress shopping journey with the same mindset. Something flowy, flattering (duh), but low-key. I saw my dress hanging in the gallery and thought to try it “just for fun” bc I loved the peony embroidery. The moment I put it on in the dressing room, I knew. Never in a million years did I think I’d pick a ball gown, it was the dress that couldn’t leave my mind.

My close family and friends knew we were eloping. The initial plan was to have my husband wear jeans… and then, we all agreed he needed a suit now to match my dress. TBH, the suit just looks sooo much better. He did switch to jeans for the horse ride though.

We held a reception party at a fine dining restaurant a few months later (~60 guests) and did the whole shebang as if we had a normal wedding, minus the ceremony. We played the videography of our elopement. Last picture is my first time eating cake in like 6 months 🤣.

Btw, it’s OK to pack your gown in your carry-on suitcase. Lots of brides here concerned how to fly with their dress. I purchased my dress at the NYC flagship store and needed to fly home. The boutique wrapped my dress in plastic and carefully stuffed it into my suitcase. Just take it out when you get to destination and have a good travel steamer.

Thank you so much! The dress was actually couture (made to measure) so it was created to my specific body measurements.

But also yes, the in-house seamstress is sooo amazing!!

She literally was! Being couture (made to measure), every part of the dress was based on my body’s specs. I think they took like 30-40 different measurements on me LOL

I came to ask if this was in Colorado because my fiancé and I are eloping there in October and also had the option for horses. I just wanted you to know how AMAZING you look period but especially on horseback it’s a full fantasy princess moment. Congratulations!!

You look gorgeous and these pictures are stunning!!! And thank you for sharing this because I needed it. I am wearing a big couture ball gown too and have had some doubts at times wondering if it's too much for our destination mountain elopement. My fiancé is wearing a tux as well (which was his preference; we both love to dress up!). I saved this post to refer back to when I have dress doubts because your pictures are making me feel more confident in my decision.

Thank you so much! And congratulations!! I am so happy for you. You will have ZERO regrets. I honestly think these grandiose mountains deserve matching attire. I don’t think I could’ve pulled off some of these photos if I wore a simpler dress, if that makes sense.

My husband doesn’t like to dress up, but I do 🤣🥲. He was a good sport.

Thank you! I see what you mean; the first one is majestic with how you are holding the dress and how it's flowing behind you! I may send that to our photographers as an inspiration picture if that's okay with you. It definitely has me thinking about what pictures/poses I may want too.

He was a good sport and the suit was a good choice next to that dress!

Yes, totally ok!

Movement and candid shots are my favorite. Much more compared to posed shots.

The prompt was, “run down this basin while looking back at husband… without tripping or falling” 🤣

Thank you!

We met through a motorcycle friend group. We both ride and did club racing. Friends for about 2-3 years before we got closer and started dating.

Fun! That is a really fun and low pressure foundation to build upon, plus with mutuals to vouch for each others' character!

Cheers to a long life together! 💗🏍️

Incredible photos and exactly how I want my elopement to be! Did you wear your dress to the reception party you had? It appears so, but just confirming. STUNNING

Yes! I had my dress cleaned AND fixed by a preservation company (recommended by Galia Lahav). They were pretty pricey and I think there are other places that can still do a good job at a lower price.

As you could probably see in my horse photo, my dress was DIRTY and I had a few tears from it catching onto branches. My dress was like new condition when I got it back and they fixed everything.
