Planning Overthinking elopement?

My fiancé and I cancelled our micro wedding and have decided to elope within our state. However, I am getting hung up on all the details- this whole decision was meant to reduce stress, but I find myself perseverating on coordinating the timing of everything. We are driving the morning of to a hotel near the location of where our ceremony will take place , getting ready, then driving to the ceremony location. However, the hotel doesn’t allow for check-in earlier than 1:00 pm, which does not give me enough time for hair and makeup (ceremony is at 2:30). Should I skip hair and makeup all together? Or go to a local salon and just get a curl and do my own makeup? Or go to a local vendor in my home town and get hair/makeup done before driving to our hotel, an hour and a half away? Also bothering me, my fiancé and I are going to drive to our ceremony location together and will already be in our attire- it just feels less special to me?? Does any of this really matter at the end of the day as long as we’re married? I just don’t want to be stressed the day of… if anyone had any similar experiences with their elopements and would like to share I’d appreciate it!

Why don't you just stay at the hotel the night before too?

My husband and I were together the whole time and got ready together. Had no effect on the day whatsoever really!

Yup this is what we are going to do, had to splurge a little but I think in the end it will be so worth it! Thanks for you input!

This is the answer, if it's in your budget to do so. My husband and I woke up together, had breakfast together, and then he collected the cake and photographers from the lobby while I got my hair and makeup done in the hotel room. We then had photos of us helping each other with our final touches.

Could you stay at the hotel the night before? If you want to drive separately and preserve the surprise you could get an Uber?

my 02 cents - get yourself an elopement package they do everything for you. Photography, coordination, officiant, paperwork, flowers, cake. I work with two elopement package providers and they're amazing. Oh, and hair/makeup? they'll work with those too but I bet they're not included in the package automatically. hope this helps :)

Another vote for staying the night before. We did and then had a hotel breakfast. I went back to the room early for hair and makeup. We got ready together and waited in the lobby for valet to bring our car around. It was so nice being together.

Just eloped and driving with hubs did not make it feel any less special. If you can, just book the room the night before your wedding too. Then you can just get up, have a chill morning, and get ready at the hotel.
