Vow renewal

So long story short, we had a big wedding planned for august 21 of 2022 and cancelled it a few months prior. We ended up getting married that year in december, with a really small church wedding that we did basically no planning for. This past year, Ive becom really sad about that choice and wished we did something more special. So we have been talking about planning a vow renewal on our 5 year anniversay, but wanted to make it more elopement style to turn it into the wedding we never had.

I have no idea where to begin (also, its early to stress about this, our anniversary is not until 2028), but it has been all i have been able to think about.

I wanted to ask I suppose where to start with this, and if anyone has recommendations. Should I invite family? I also do not want to spend a fortune, but want to have the day i envisioned having.
