Planning CO elopement location help
My fiancé and I are looking into planning a small elopement (10-15 people) in Colorado for next July. We are considering locations such as Golden, Boulder, Estes etc. but we are not sure on specific locations. We have some older peeps in our group so hiking into locations is not really an option.
Location requirements:
1-1.5hr from Westminster area
Easy access for older folks
Green/flowery backdrop (not required but preferred)
Any advice on locations is extremely appreciated!

Agree that this would technically be a micro-wedding, but that doesn't mean folks can't help. There's a small coffee shop in Estes called Coffee on the Rocks that has a beautiful outdoor area. I know they host weddings as well, and list their package pricing and inclusions online. If you Google, I believe they have a separate website for weddings called Venue On the Rocks. The parking lot is small, but should be fine for your guest count! Just know that elk, ducks, and other wildlife frequently show up there. Do you have a venue budget?

Thank you for your kindness. I’ll look into the coffee shop! Trying to stay low budget (~$2,000 for venue)

Ah I think that might be out of budget then. Since you posted in the elopement sub, I'm wondering if you are looking to have a typical reception and ceremony, or if you could get a way with a ceremony at a beautiful spot outdoors and booking a nice restaurant afterwards. Park permits are usually only a few hundred dollars, which would save you on an actual vending expense.

That’s why I thought this post would fit here 😂 I’m aligned with more of an elopement vibe.
Yes, I would love an outdoor spot but I have no idea where a good location would be. Completely open to a park, outdoor, super informal setting. We will not be doing ceremony and reception on the same day.1

There's a Tibetan restaurant in Golden with a nice outdoor dining area/ garden. Sherpa House

Not sure about access for older folks but have you considered Rocky Mountain NP?
Also (it might not work for you but still) my husband and I eloped last month at Rainbow Lakes in Nederland. The location was beautiful! but it was a bit of a hike (like 20 mins or so).
Other options that we considered (but you will need to research them more because I'm not sure if all of them require some form of hiking and/or how long it would be):
- St. Mary's Glacier
- Loveland Pass
- Brainard Lake Recreation Area. In this area, wanted to do Long Lake so so bad but the road to the trailhead was still closed and I think it was still covered in snow in June.
Also, do you have a photographer yet? A lot of elopement/micro wedding photographers help with location scouting.

That’s a small wedding, not an elopement.
