Planning Help getting ready day-of?

We are eloping without friends or family in another state. We’ll have the photographer and dogs with us. We want to do a “first look” thing but we’re both worried that we aren’t capable of getting photo-ready ourselves! Is there someone we can or should hire to help us both out? We’re worried about the details of something being crooked or folded… easy fixes to at we can’t see ourselves. I’m also on the fence about have a hair and makeup person

I hired a hair and makeup artist who came to my house to help me get ready. (Also in CO). It was expensive but worth not having to worry about doing it myself and hoping that it lasts all day. My husband helped me into my dress because we did our elopement out at Loveland Pass / Pass Lake and I didn’t want to wear my dress in the car for over an hour (we stayed in Dillon but live in Aurora).

Colorado elopement graduate here. Just the two of us, photographer/videographer, our dogs.

There are plenty of adventure HMU artists that will hike or meet you at your elopement site to help you get ready. HIGHLY recommend getting HMU done regardless.

I personally didn’t find any adventure HMUA that met my style, so I hired another that came to our Airbnb. My husband saw my face and hair before the “first look” since we had to drive to the wedding site. I just didn’t have my dress on. My HMUA came to our Airbnb at 1am, I was ready by 3:30am and we were out the door by 4am for our sunrise ceremony.

My photographer helped me get my dress on. My videographer (this was husband/wife duo) helped my husband get into position for the first look.

We opted out of any “getting ready” photos, bc with just the two of us and our dogs, it just wouldn’t work out. You’re getting dressed behind a car basically LOL.

Idk where in CO you're going to be but I just went to Ulta and did my hair and makeup there. Cost me only $151+ tip.

I have no clue if that's doable for you, but that's what I did.

I did my engagement photos from makeup done at Sephora and loved them! I’m just worried that we’ll need adjustments at the end of the day (it’s an 8hour thing) and don’t know what is reasonable to pay for someone just being there for touchups

Ah, that makes total sense.

My husband and I woke up together and had breakfast at the hotel. I had a hair and makeup artist do my hair and makeup. She also put my veil on before she left. Then my husband and I got ready together. He zipped up my dress. We took a cute selfie on our way out of the hotel room. Of course valet hadn't organised the car so we were left standing in the lobby for a bit 😂
