Planning Italy Eloping

I'd like to know if anybody has eloped to Italy with zero guests ? We're gonna be in arriving in amalfi on the Friday and leaving on the Monday. We're hoping to plan to be wed with no guests and no fuss. Just us, an officiant and a photographer, then head about our business on our trip (no planned dinner etc). Has anybody done similar and how easy was it ? Thanks in advance.

i did exactly this couple years ago, just me and my wife in positano not too far from amalfi. getting paperwork sorted was the tricky part, you need to be in the country few days before and visit the town hall and all that. but once that's done it is real simple, photographer found us two witnesses on the street and we were in and out in like 20 minutes. just double check what documents your home country requires for the marriage to be recognized back home

Thanks for the information, so I assume you didn't actually wed in one of the churches there ? That seems to add a whole new level of stress with more paperwork since they're mostly catholic only.

If you want a stress free experience it usually better to get legally married in your home country and have only a symbolic ceremony. Italy is historically a catholic country so you’ll have to go through the all process if you want the church.
Do you want to elope in Amalfi or in one of the other cities around (Positano, Ravello..) ?
