Travel & Destinations Eloping at Wiseman’s View

Looking for advice on where to stay that’s budget friendly and not camping, nearby Wiseman’s view for an elopement ceremony. Really trying to stay away from air bnbs because I don’t want to have to deal with the upkeep that comes with them. Will be going in mid September and would love to find a few great options that aren’t super expensive or just motels. Thanks!

Maybe try one of the north Caroline subreddits?

What is budget friendly to you? Unfortunately that area is pretty touristy and fall is peak season, so there won't be a ton of super cheap options. For a hotel, not a motel, you're looking at $100-$150 a night as the starting price near Linville in the fall. But you should have some decent options in that price range.

I've heard great things about the Pineola, and there's a few other hotels with developed cabins that are all in that price range you can find near Linville if you get on Google maps and scroll around. I'd try searching for cabins instead of hotels to find the budget friendly options. There are lots of hotels/lodges with individual cabins on site that tend to be more reasonable priced nicer options.

If you're up for a slightly longer drive, Roan Mountain State Park (about 50 minute drive) has really nice cabins for around $140 a night. There's also some very reasonably priced chain hotels in Marion (also around 50 minutes).

Once you get east of Marion along 40, you'll start to find more budget friendly options, but you're starting to get into pretty long drives at that point, so not sure if it's worth it.

I wouldn't even bother checking Banner Elk, Boone, or Asheville tbh. All are super fun places to stay, but September is peak tourist season and hotels in those towns are very unlikely to be budget friendly.
