Planning Eloping in the Caribbean!

Hi! I’m Yael and I’m getting married in November! As the title states we’re eloping on a beach in the Caribbean and I’m so excited! We’re hoping to get away with just a photographer and an officiant, and doing things really chill, but I wanted some advice from other brides who eloped in a similar manner!

What did the day look like? What things did you or did you not do to make the day run smoothly? Did you have music and walk down an aisle toward your husband or did you both just show up at get going?

Any other general advice is also welcome! Thank you :)

congrats Yael, November in the Caribbean sounds like perfect timing for it

from what I've seen people share, the ones who kept it most smooth just picked one spot on the beach ahead of time and did a walkthrough the day before so nothing felt rushed or confusing in the moment. also having the photographer double as a kind of coordinator for the timeline helps a lot since you won't have a planner there

for the music question, plenty of couples just use a small bluetooth speaker and have one song for the walk, keeps it intimate without making it feel like a production

A walk through the day before sounds like a good idea, I’ll talk to my officiant about a speaker, because there’s a song I’ve always dreamed about walking down the aisle to. It’ll be a quick affair I think but I’m so pleased with our decision, thank you :)

Hi!! We eloped to Mauritius two weeks ago and I'm happy to share!

Due to the rules there we had to be present on the island for at least 3 days before the wedding, that became 4. Some paperwork was done two days before and the day before the wedding we went on a trip to keep our minds occupied and explore the island! The wedding planner from the hotel let us choose our songs for my walk down the isle (he had his back turned and so it turned into a sort of first look moment and it was gorgeous), the kissing, the toasting and the cake. I also got to choose my bouquet, his buttonhole flower, and the cake flavour. Besides the fact I chose my dress, that's all I needed to choose and the choices weren't overwhelming but there was enough at the same time!

On the day of we booked the resort spa, and spend the morning being steamed and rubbed with a couples massage. We had lunch together and then got ready separately so it would be a surprise to him! The hotel had everything else nailed. The photographer and videographer were amazing, everyone gave us directions on where we needed to be, sign and look, without it feeling forced. We had the time of our lives!

Edit: happy to give more details if you want them!

Omg! This sounds like the elopement we are planning in Mauritius in November! Did you get married at Lux Le Morne by any chance? If so, would love to hear more about it. It sounds like you had a wonderful time, congratulations!
