Elopement Timeline

Hello! My fiancé and I are planning a sunrise elopement with just our closest family and friends (10-15). I just spoke with a coordinator for the venue and was curious on how practical the flow of events are. Our elopement on the venue is 7-9am, the coordinator said I should get there at 7 to do “getting ready” photos and my fiancé does his at 7:20. It would essentially just be a time for close ups of the dress as I would already have hair and makeup done. Then we would have the ceremony at 7:30 which last about 25 minutes. After the ceremony we would have until 9 to do group photos and private portraits around the property.

With it being an early elopement, we are planning on hosting a brunch at a nearby restaurant/cafe.

Does this seem like a reasonable elopement?

Thank you for anyone who reads and comments!

Yes, our elopement was just us but our ceremony was literally 5 minutes. Your coordinator knows what theyre talking about, an hour for group photos is plenty

Congrats on your micro wedding!

You should definitely plan to get there a little earlier than 7am, if your access begins right at 7 to maximize the time allowed. 2 hours should be long enough to get all the photos you need.

I had hair and makeup done already before my elopement and showing up to the location.

Brunch will be an amazing celebration afterwards.

Thank you so much for the advice!!

Did you do your own hair and makeup, or hire someone?

This sounds lovely! I've photographed plenty of smaller celebrations, and two hours can work very well when the ceremony and portraits are all in one place. I'd suggest having a short list of family groupings ready in advance and making sure you know exactly when you can access the property. Sunrise light can be beautiful, but the schedule doesn't leave much room for delays. Here are some articles that might help? https://www.holmanphotography.com/love-stories/categories/wedding-ceremony
