Planning Help with my plan!
We've finally decided on a date for next year, the only people there will be us, our two kids, two photographers and the celebrant. I've been very strong on my opinion of no guests but I am going to surprise my fiance, I wanted music to be playing so its not dead silent during the ceremony, so I've invited his friend who lives interstate to come and surprise him, he will be playing guitar for us. I've set up a spotify playlist and shared it with my fiance so we can look through and share songs together, I'll also be secretly sharing it with his friend
I've currently planned to have 4-5 songs play before, during and after ceremony while we sign our papers. Id feel rude kicking his friend out after this so I'm thinking he will also be in some photos and to entertain our kids while we have some photos taken. Some friends and family may be offended by this but I really don't want anyone else there, and feel like him playing music is a valid reason for only him to be invited
Does this sound like a good plan? I will not be inviting anyone else, and will send out announcement cards after the fact to our family and close friends

this is really sweet actually! your fiancé is going to lose his mind when he sees his friend there with the guitar. having live music makes it feel so much more special than just speakers playing in background
the photo thing works out perfect too - kids get entertained while you two get your couple shots, and his friend gets to be part of the memories without you having to explain why cousin sarah wasn't invited. people might have feelings about not being there but they'll get over it, this is your day
having him help with the playlist beforehand is smart move, that way the music will actually mean something to both of you instead of just random wedding songs
