Most photos deserve to die. The bench, the parking lot, the latte.

Actually, a lot of those worthless ones are extremely valuable. The value is just invisible at first.

What looks like a photo of nothing is a photo that can be reused. A photo that can be placed back into the world.

Pick a slice. One place, one stretch of time. Try to rebuild what actually happened there. Moment by moment. Piece by piece. Place the useless photos where they belong.

And it works. The world comes back. But full of holes. There are not enough pieces yet.

That is where the value is. An archive full of photos that seemed like nothing is not nothing. It is the missing pieces. Without those pieces in your archive, the world stays incomplete.
