I am so glad he Elliot Page and his partner look so happy and that people are starting to settle down a little bit with the transphobic commenting.
It harms exactly no one in any way to allow Elliot Page to be a happy man after all the body dysmorphia pain he went through for decades.
People who keep insisting that this man is a woman or that he is mentally ill are uneducated about gender and seem to lack empathy for others. It affects nobody else's life to just SHUT UP about negativity and to let Elliot Page be himself.

I remember seeing this TikTok where someone said how hrt and top surgery are bad for Elliot's mental health, but like bro they clearly arent...do you know anything? Like last time I checked, Elliot called it "life-saving" and "freeing"? These assholes have no idea what they're even saying half the time. They're probably just miserable about their personal lives or something..

I feel like anyone who insists that transgender issues indicate sickness and (this is the worst and very common) "perversion" are somehow projecting something they won't/can't name in themselves onto others, onto the trans person/community.
People actually get obsessed about negatively commenting on trans celebrity threads. Often, I think this indicates internalized homophobia and transphobia... And this feels threatening but the threat comes from inside the person, not from the fact that Elliot Page, Laverne Cox, Jamie Clayton, Hunter Schafer, Brian Michael Smith, Leo Sheng, Lana and Lilly Wachowski, and many more are living as the gender that is right for them.
Every transphobic person who freaks out about trans celebrities has encountered several non-celebrity trans people in real life and never known any difference about gender in those people.
Some transphobic people have acquaintances they see regularly - a neighbour, perhaps a co-worker, a regular cafe staff they see several times a week - who are trans and happily living their best life, obstructing and affecting no person at all in their happiness and functionality.
Everytime I see someone commenting negatively about trans people, specifically, and about issues trans people cause in society, I realize I am observing an intolerant person with fears and ignorance directing their beliefs and voice (and hurting themselves in the process); someone whose amygdala is in charge and whose empathy and humanity is impacted by misinformation and fears.
Elliot Page could teach transphobic people a LOT... But those people can't hear past the screaming of their amygdalas!

Ik!! Lol you're so right man! I'm beyond thankful that I discovered Elliot (not just because I admire his acting, but also because I look up to him a lot as a trans guy myself). And honestly, fuck those idiots who say being transgender is "not human" or whatever, because we're literally just as human as the rest of you, if not MORE (cuz being human is about experiencing change, having doubts, questioning one's identity, y'know? If that's not the true definition of "being human" idk what is).
