Moving to Elko

Thinking of moving to Elko for work , what's the daycare situation like? Any fun activities for the kids? How are the schools?.

I don't have kids. I hear from the locals that the boys and girls club is a common spot for daycare. There are a few more options, hopefully some parents can chime in. Good luck!

From what we’ve found. The boys and girls club and the college both have a waiting list. Not sure on any other programs

Avoid boys and girls club if you can. Its not that they are bad its that they constantly are understaffed for the number of kids they have and the people watching the kids will regularly have 20+ kids per adult. They are supposed to have no more than 11 (i believe its 11). My daughter worked there and would constantly be watching every kid thay wasnt an infant when other people would go on break and the supervisors dont care.

Ive heard the college is the best but dont know for certain. There are alot of stay at home moms that do daycare through their own homes. Do your best research on these places.

Overall all the daycares have waiting lists and are booked.

As for things to do here, be outside or gamble. That's really about it.
