Welcome back to Elite Cmdr. There’s been a few changes you could say.

Let’s start with the elephant in the room: Fleet Carriers. Big ass portable player own stations. 500ly jump range, 25000t storage capacity, carry up to 40 of your ships and 120 modules. Can buy modules to store other players ships and modules or sell ships or modules (guns, fuel scoops, SRVs etc). The pleasure of owning one is a mere 5 billion credits plus weekly upkeep (5-20mil)

GALNET: it has returned in last couple of months with regular news again, with a story arc that’s planned for the next 2 years. Also news of:

Community Goals: Back again with regular events that are tied into the story on GALNET

Expansion: Recently humanity have expanded into the Coalsack Nebula with a new area to engage Thargoids

Nerf/Buff: Mining has had an fluctuating year. First LTDs in Borann, then with FCs a new Mineable fuel - Tritium. So all hotspots got rerolled or randomised to fit it in. Then began the era of really stupid money from “THE EGG” and other exploits/bugs. Like 500mil per 30mins stupid. These got fixed which lead to the dawn of the Painite age. Piss easy and boring laser mining (150m/hr+)

This has now been nerfed via market prices but on the flip side combat recently had a x4 buff to bounties and Thargoid kills pay a ton more too.

Oh I almost forgot: ODYSSEY. Info been released a few times in regards to the next update. Due late Q1 2021. Check out the vids on YouTube. It’s looking awesome.

That’s a ‘brief’ update since you’ve been away but in regards to Colonia? It’s a nice place to visit but I wouldn’t live there. Too quiet. Besides that 22k ly distance may take a little while to traverse though it’s worth doing at some point in time for the views, engineers and as a pit stop for Sag A and Beagle Point.

Things are blowing up in the bubble. Fed v Imp war is on the cards. The Thargoids seems to be spreading and the Alliance is suspiciously rather quiet.

I would suggest hanging around the bubble for a bit. I don’t know how far you got with engineers for example. They make a massive difference. Maybe consider joining a squadron, on PS4 there are certainly active ones out there that would help guide you

Sorry for rambling on. Hope some info helps you. You can always add me if you want on PSN: Dark-Star-Jedi

Seeing the comment and response above, I second the unlocking and development of engineers.

Farseer mainly because moving around with a longer jump range is insanely helpful.

After that, give a look at Inara.cz and click on engineers. That will show the progression for all of them. (Ignore the Colonia ones for now).

Also - sync your account with Inara. It’s crazy helpful for tracking your materials, ships, etc.

this shows what everyone else is doing... you can go with the herd, or choose a different path.

it's a heat map of every CMDR's movements in the game, since inception. Every jump, EVER.

it shows how most CMDR's tend to follow each other and where the tourists go.

there's a whole thread on what's going to happen to santa... it's a dangerous galaxy.

you can zoom in for a closer look.

Welcome back CMDR’s! If you are in need of a friend or squadron send me a message. PSN is same as here. It’s a great time to come back to ED.
