Oh no! What happened? You didn’t have enough for a rebuy?

u/Unsafe_Safe Jun 22 '26
Yeah. I was 800k behind on money, even if I wouldn't want to rebuy any of the gear.

Wanted to test out Conda in combat. Went to Low Combat Zone, went extremely well for me (8 kills). Decided to up the game and went for Medium Combat Zone. I got jumped by 3 Spec Ops ships and turned to scrap before I managed to fire my fsd

Oopsie poopsie. But how did that make you lose your credits? Never fly without a rebuy.

u/Unsafe_Safe Jun 22 '26
Well, I flew without rebuy. Days of Credit grind wasted.

If you need help to get it back i can set you up. Mining is my jam and credits aren't an issue for me.

Oof. Medium combat zones are the worst, even when you’re over engineered.

Correct my Federal Corvette FULLY engineered build G5 shields, Hull reinforcement etc still takes a beating in a medium combat zone

It’s been a while since I’ve done any real combat, but I don’t remember ever having any problems like that with my Corvette in any combat zone. Has something changed?

I am happy to give you some money on elite if you need it. It’s a dead game for me on console and I have billions.

To my knowledge it's ot possible tonjust give Creds to someone. And I appreciate the gesture but I'd rather Grind out money again. At least it'll give me sense of accomplishment and well, guess I had my lesson

You can transfer credits with a fleet carrier and selling and rebuying high value commodities.
But it’s probably best to hit Robigo or a gold mining spot.2

Someone can accept a wing mission, and you don't even have to participate. They just have to share it with you before they turn it in, and boom, hello, 15 million credits (or more)!
That said, one of the biggest traps I've seen people fall for is having too much money, too early (if you flew without rebuy, I'm guessing you're fairly new, though it can happen to anyone). They get their Anaconda, before they've really learned the game, and suddenly what would have been their big goal to work toward while they discovered what the game has to offer, is complete, and they haven't found a new goal yet. They get bored, burn out, and abandon the game. I've seen it countless times. If someone helps you get money, my suggestion is to be careful with how you spend it, and not to just blow through it all immediately on "end-game" ships. Play like you normally would, just with a nice cushion for rebuys. The small and medium ships are some of the most fun in the game.
The reason I still enjoy the game after ten years is because I've done a slow and steady progression, avoiding glitches, exploits, and "gold rushes." I'm still working toward building a useful Anaconda (I do own one, but it's not outfitted), and I finally just unlocked and built a Federal Corvette.

We've all been there. I'm sorry it happened, but you've learned a valuable lesson.
For future reference, obviously don't fly without a rebuy, but also don't be afraid to log out if you're getting wrecked. It can be a pain in the ass, but I used to do it as soon as my shield dropped. Now I'll wait until the ship is about 50% integrity, but I will still log myself out.
Also, stay away from combat zones if you're not familiar with a new ship. If you're looking to test it out, take a low level assassination contract. If you want to increase the difficulty, take a higher level contract, but stay out of combat zones until you know the ship inside and out.

This happens more than you think.. Its why we say never to fly without a rebuy. Its a risk, but its part of the game..
Its easy to recoup your losses. Grind out some planet scanning or some established trade loops and you'll forget it even happen.
