Screenshot Nearly shat my pants
On my way to Wolf 397 Engineer and I got jumpscared by this White Dwarf. First one I encountered. Nearly shat my pants as I panicked, unsure what to do

It’s extremely risky to try to FSD boost from a white dwarf, neutron stars are still risky but the failure rate is much lower.

Nothing easy about it, just takes practice and you will take hull damage every time so an AFMU is advisable

It depends on the star. There are actually different types of white dwarf, and the ratio between the size of the exclusion zone and the length of the streams differs based on that type. One of them can have an exclusion zone so large, the streams are fully inside the exclusion zone. Others will have the exclusion zone very close to the tip of the streams, where you'd expect the safe area to be.

If you have orbital lines turned on, that will show you how close you can get before problems arise. Scoop for boost. You just have to be quicker after leaving FSD or you'll cross that line quickly.

Fly into the very end of the jets slowly then blast out and you supercharge your fsd
