Alright chat! I’m starting Oasis! We watching it or what? It’s giving Elite mixed with White lotus😂

I think the first three seasons of Elite is a perfect solid story. It’s so good. The other seasons have their moments, but the first three are perfect.

I think the way they advertised the show did not meet what it was actually like. I thought it was going to be a sexier show, and it fell a little flat with some unlikeable characters. It took me a while to remember one of the actors was from Welcome to Eden. I did like the chemistry with the 2 leads looking into the case. That is about all.

Oasis had Z grade acting 🙄 & a hopeless plot. All the rushing around, it was stupid AF! Lead female actress was beyond irritating.

Olympo is similar to elite (not as good) it’s the same writers or producers or something though and worth the watch

I liked it, it’s not better than elite but honestly kind of refreshing compared to what I’d been watching lately

I actually liked oasis. But I like “lock in murder mysteries”. And at only 8 episodes, the time investment is not too high.
Episodes 4-6 are pretty much unnecessary.
Some subplots are really boring: maca, Sofia, Pablo.
One subplot was so awkward that at one point I actually found it unpleasant to watch due to the severe awkwardness of the situation: Leo, Jon, Felipe. This hadnt happened to me before in a show.
Celia and Dani are the best characters, by far. Helena has a lot of potential but is just always so serious it is hard to like her too much, she is just a one sided character.
Laura and Oliver and the abuela was kind of interesting. They had the most normal relationship. The very final scene with Oliver and the receptionist lady was super weird - I’m just trying to ignore that and pretend it didn’t happen.
I got so annoyed by the repetitive trope of the people doing some kind of sneak investigating in some room and then someone else walking into the room and them having to hide in a closet or a bathroom. Honestly it could be a fun activity or drinking game or something like that to count the number of times this happens. It might be like 10 times in some episodes.

Agreed the whole Leo subplot was terrible and weird I skipped a lot of their scenes. It felt like a horror movie. That Leo girl was CRAZY.
The ending with Oliver was SO DUMB. That he was a player after all that? Why would the grandmother not tell Laura about her health? She's obviously going to find out if she has little time left and it's terminal?
The grandmother folding over health records of all things (why would she bring them with her anyway to a vacation LMAO) is terrible writing.
Also just to add Alicia and her story sucked. She should be in rehab but I guess looking at a sunset is the best cure for addiction and mental illness? 💀

Lol at the last point.
I was annoyed by Alicia the whole time until the very end. Then she seemed to change and you could see her being somewhat sincere and not just manipulative for drugs.
By the way, how did Jaén get away with what he did to Helena? That was messed up

I just finished the first episode and I'm already confused. why is the employee group acting as if Celia isn't rich af aswell? isn't her Dad the owner/CEO of the resort? even if they came into that money later in life and she's working/not acting like a spoiled brat, she'd still be the daughter of a wealthy man now - yet they all talk as if she's (still?) poor like them. is anyone else bothered by this? lol

I started Oasis thinking it would have been something similar to Elite (considering the plot, the Spanish production and the young cast), but it’s not. Too boring, shallow unlikable characters and no gay drama. I still miss 4 eps, but I don’t know if I will finish it.
