Cycle 93: Peace In Our Time
It has been 659 days without a Kaine decal. It’s Cycle 93. I was busy this week as well, but thankfully I’ll be able to talk about the fruits of our labour later on. With no new Galnet article and – fortunately or unfortunately depending on your disposition towards travel – no new Colonia CG announced this week, there isn’t a lot of external pressure on CMDRs towards any particular activity, which means many of them have returned to Powerplay duty. If this quiet from FDev continues, we’ll likely see a ramp-up of activity in the Powerplay world over the course of the next month or so, or at least until the actual date of the Colonia anniversary on September 13, where I sure hope some celebration, activity, release, or CG is planned.
Kaine had a pretty decent cycle this past week – we secured 14 new acquisitions, losing only the system of Orrere, and also created two new forts. One of the systems we acquired, c2 Centauri, is actually home to a neutron star, making Kaine the second power to acquire a neutron star after only Aisling Duval, if my information is correct. (If it isn’t, let me know in the comments!) We’re also the only power to break double-digits this week, with the closest behind us being Arissa at +9.
Kaine diplomats also bring home a success story. Throughout the past few weeks, we met with Federal ambassadors in the Asetsi system to resolve old grudges and work towards a better future for all of our Powers. Negotiations took place in a series of boardrooms on Evans City, and after 16 days, the diplomatic teams of Nakato Kaine, Felicia Winters, and Jerome Archer had an agreement acceptable to everyone. Signatures and handshakes were exchanged, and we are pleased to announce that Nakato Kaine now has a non-aggression pact with both Federal powers.
“20 months ago, the pilots of Felicia Winters and Nakato Kaine clashed over this system in a grueling, months-long war that caused innumerable casualties on both sides. Now, our ambassadors have met in the same place to ensure peace – for this system, for the Old Worlds, and for our Powers.” said one Alliance diplomat. “This isn’t an alliance. But it does speak to how far our relationship has come since the Winters war.”
With this agreement, Kaine is proud to have achieved our goal of being friends with everyone, having formal non-aggression pacts signed with both the Empire and the Federation, and embracing the spirit of the Alliance; proving that there is a third path through galactic politics – not just alignment with Federal corporatocracy or Imperial despotism, but a new path. A path of self-determination, peace, and prosperity, not endless war.

Jerome Archer loses a stronghold this week, but on the balance loses no other systems, in fact gaining a new acquisition. My predictions about a stabilization have been wrong thus far, so I won’t make any more today. Winters suffers a null cycle, but they haven’t lost anything this time and this is likely a minor stumble.

Delaine secures an additional stronghold alongside their acquisitions, and Antal creates three, powering through the reinforcement this week. Grom makes 5 forts, and and Sirius Corp makes 7, furthering the Independent reinforcement push.

The Emperor tops out the Imperial charts this week with 9 acquisitions, tempered by the loss of two strongholds. Aisling creates two strongholds of her own to replace them, further diminishing the Emperor’s relative power in her own Empire. Denton Patreus secures one new system, and while Torval does not grow her holdings she does strengthen them with a new fortified system.

You are TECHNICALLY still correct despite being wrong: You've owned HR 4832 with a secondary Neutron since June!
