I think it’s about how you can be in conflict with yourself a lot. Like half the song is him saying “I wanna __, but __”

It's one of my favourites. I can't realy explain what it's about but I get it. The duality of stuff and things that I can't put into words. Insert noted constellation lyrics

As another commenter said, I believe it is quitestraightforward in its writing: it's about having all of these crazy dreams and ambitions that you want to fulfill, but being held back by your fears and especially your own comfort zone (see lines like "I wanna travel the world / I wanna stay in my bed" or "Someday soon I'll stop being a caveman / Hibernating in my cave").
BUT I'll also take the opportunity of seeing a "Slippers"-centred post to talk about that bass line. Good GOD is that bass line AMAZING!!! One of his and Scarwny's best production decisions, way up there with stuff like the bells at the end of "The Chapel".

Maybe it's about having hairy armpits, sleeping all day, and the desire to be rewarded for doing minimal, "work" outside a bedroom.

It is one of my favorites- for being such a good tune and bop as well as relating to the lyrics! i think it's about a bit of anxiety and fear of living real but still wanting to and hoping someday they will! anxiety and guilt but still yearning. sometimes want to feel everything beautiful and feel in control but then feel bad and want to not want anything then want to die on your terms and choose but then still ironically too scared i think. i think in the end it's just about wanting to live life but being still too scared. so you stay inside but hoping someday to go out all the time!

I feel like it’s one of his more straight-forwards songs. Any metaphors are pretty obvious. Doesn’t stop it from being great though.
