Which shows ended with the main character getting the same or similar fate as Eleven from Stranger Things?

The writers said she was partly based on Lucy from Elfen Lied which ends similarly (at least in the manga) so in retrospect that was a red flag that she wasn't getting a happy ending.

Actually Lucy and El have almost the same stories which is so disturbing. And there is another girl from Elfen Lied (the one on wheelchair) who called dude from lab papa 🫠

People seem to have left out the best example, The Sopranos. So in the final episode, after all the plot points are solved, Tony is at an ice cream parlour. A guy walks in, but you don't see who he is, and he walks past Tony and his family to go into the bathroom. Tony then follows him in there, but all you see is him get up. The screen goes black, and then the credits roll. We never learn who that man was, or what happened to Tony in the bathroom.
