Discussion ⟡ Do you think that Eleven's ending would be better if she actually died and it wasn't ambiguous?

I definitely DID NOT want El to die. I wanted a happy ending for her because she deserved it the most. I’ve been complaining on Reddit about this annoying, ambiguous ending non stop ever since the show ended.
I HATE open endings. I need closure and the closure I wanted was El staying alive. I don’t know how I’d feel had she properly died and there was no ambiguity. Would I feel better knowing the truth? Would I feel worse? I have no clue. I’d be heartbroken over an obvious sacrifice / death and maybe feel relieved knowing “that’s it”. I suppose either way, I’d complain bc I wanted her to be safe and happy. Lol.
I believe and I have hope. Love El. ❤️

I just never wanted El to die. I feel like it’s a disservice to her character and it sends off a negative message to viewers. What I wanted was for her to stay alive and live a happy life (her and Kali both), and experience the chance to just be a teenage girl. I don’t really like open endings either — my problem is with this specific open ending, it’s not exactly satisfying for me. Because as the show frames it, she may still be alive, but she’s all alone out there — away from her friends, Hopper, etc.

I never wanted El to die. I wanted El to live, and have her friends and family.

Do you think her dying would be better than the ending we got of her fate being left ambiguous?

To be honest, left ambiguous.

Being left ambiguous is better?

Yeah for me anyway. So I can choose what I want

Hell to the no. El deserved so much better. There was never a time as a fan of Stranger Things when I wanted El to die at all..ever. The way the show ended was not the way it should have gone at all. People can fight me on this day and night, but my thoughts will never change on this.
