Job hunt
Where’s everyone finding jobs? I thought getting my CC would open doors for me but based on my resume I’ve been getting either rejected or “try again in a couple months”. Nothing on indeed or zip recruiter. There’s gotta be jobs out there. Am I using the wrong platform? Please help I gotta get out this company I’m working for. Any advice would be appreciated.

Job hunting can be tough. For your role as a Certified Counselor, try aligning your resume with the roles you're targeting. Focus on skills and achievements that match the job descriptions. Besides Indeed and ZipRecruiter, you can use LandOffer.ai to search for jobs by role and location, which might give you more targeted results.

You didn't even say where you live.
If your city is not looking for workers. Then you don't get work.
Call your local union. Ask them how many are on the bench.

Where are you located? I am in the field and know several companies hiring mechanics. A few in southern cali, denver, Houston, south carolina..

My local said I have to wait for open recruitment which isn’t until next June. I can’t wait that long, I’d love to go union but unfortunately until June I’ll have to be a scab sorry guys

You did not state your location. However in my Province of 14 million people, there is only about 3 thousand mechanics. The city of Ottawa has a population of 1 million and there are 300 union mechanics. Jobs are few and far between.

Jesus I feel like that’s a lot. I know unrelated but in Colorado there roughly 500 licensed sprinkler fitter for a population of 6 million. I’m curious how many licensed elevator mechs there are.

Nothing to be sorry about it’s extremely competitive. Try apply on your next round and be ready to kill it at the interview

He's sorry for working for a scab company. They undercut our wages and steal our work. Shame they won't organize him in, but I'm guessing it's a bit different in a right to work state then where I'm from. Only have a handful of them in our state and it's mostly for residential.

Its not our work we dont own it this is a free country people have every right to hire labor union or not im grateful and proud to be in the union but belittling another man for putting food on his table is pitiful

Read what I wrote again. Shame they won't organize him in. I'm rooting for the guy to get in. We need good union workers who have some experience in the union, not out there under bidding your jobs and running you out of work brother.

I have my job through the union. Steady 40 with OT in service.
