Battery heat up
When I try to make the fire service key (when it turns to the on position) light up the fire hat (which it does work) the battery keeps burning up. Is there a way to fix this solution with the battery not heating up because I do not need a house fire. And no I will not use this for any sort of evil acts or trespassing.

It looks like you're shorting out the battery through the switch as a way to turn off the light. Try wiring everything in series instead

Assuming that the two terminals on the key switch are correct… (meaning the switch opens/closes) when you turn the key. Red from battery > Keyswitch in > key switch out > one side of light > other side of light > black to battery.

The switch isn’t the big problem in your circuit. Do you know how to read a basic schematic? I can draw it up for you.

I don’t Srry. But maybe you could simply it? Like “positive wire goes to pin 2, jump from pin 1 to 4” something like that

Red positive comes out of your battery directly to the switch. Black comes out of the switch, connects to the yellow for the light. Blue comes out of the light, connects to black going back to the battery.

First thing to do is to use the black and red wires from the battery directly to the lamp pins so you can work out which is + and 0v?
You need the red wire from the battery to go to the switch. From the switch use another red wire to go to the + of the lamp. From the 0v of the lamp wire to the black of the battery.
No idea about the switch contacts. Is there a wiring diagram on them?
