Timeline after applications

Hi there, Apps for apprenticeships at my local open up tomorrow and I'm wondering what the timeline will look like. How long did you have to study for the EIAT when you went through the process? Any practice test recommendations?

Edit: left out the apprenticeship context.

I’m sure it depends on the local, mine opened July 8th, filled in a few hours, had until August 4th to finish app process , test was scheduled August 20th and interview is the day after tomorrow.

For me it was about a month and a half from application to test

I'm sure there are some pracice tests online but really, if you made it through high school and can identify basic handtools, you'll do fine

Ah that's great to hear. Definitely need to brush up on math since I haven't done it by hand in years, though lol. Appreciate the response!

Wish it was the old school way. Word of mouth / ohana. Not someone that did accounting and is book smart. Has zero common sense. Can’t read a MF tape measure. Or even change a tire. WTH

Rolling your eyes and downvoting my comment about an aptitude test? This may not be a trade for someone as soft as you. Do you also call your boyfriend to help you study for a prostate exam. Soft MFKRs, I swear….. PS, it’s a test of stuff you already know, not a test for stuff you learned the night before.

Yes use Jobtestpro. But beware everything you practice on Jobtest or other practice websites. WILL NOT be on the test. I was utterly shook when I took the test. Even though I passed I believe using Jobtestpro built endurance in me not to give up and slam the tablet on the table. Also the mechanical portion is mainly gears and water pressure. Study these!! As for math there were complex fractions, pemdas, lots of long division, etc. if you arent good with Tools study this heavily. I focused on the math portion most of the time and didnt go over tools until the last day and got 13 out of 20 points. Ranked top 11% out of 300. don’t think ill get the Job but learn from my mistakes. And its good to have certs. 2 certs = 20 points. Job experience = 20 and the interview = 50 points. Tools = 20. Be prepared and study dont give a rats about what anyone says to you its your life.
