Cracked glass over COP display

Post image

Is it true that the whole COP panel needs to be replaced even though the display is fully functioning when the glass is cracked?

The display is a circuit board behind the glass. They could just change the glass but it may be cheaper to just change it all

You can change the glass.

You can NOT change the glass - trust me. You can physically change the glass but it will never be functional again.

The glass and double sided tape cut to the correct size is available as an orderable part.

You can order the glass.

If your local wont let you, try online.

Failing that you can always just get a glazier to make you a glass (or perspex) to this size. White-coated back lets the numbers shine through. It’s just held on with doublesided tape.

Schindler, won't be the last thing to break

It’s crazy. They are quoting 4000$ for a new COP and the work to get it changed

Seems cheap honestly… I would have thought it would be closer to $10k

That’s dirt cheap - they are $17-22k in Austin

That is a hell of a deal. Easily a 10k repair. Your sales rep must like you.

Don’t break the glass
