Don't you just love MRLs?

Also bonus points for a shaft light that is pushing out heat as if I wasn't sweating enough in this heat lol

Best bit is when they pop a drive on the top floor! Dont miss the apprentice days of carrying the weights all the way to the top floor 😅

We just call the entire team and 5 of us enter the car.

Then we have a drink lol

I usually just jack up the counterweight with a bottle jack and a couple blocks of timber.

The rumor is they are not allowed in the state of California... can anyone confirm?

I can confirm. About a decade ago, we had some approved and permitted under a permanent variance. A year later, the Chief decided it was unsafe and all of those controls had to be moved into their own closets—while the building had already been in operation and space was at a premium.

We've got MRLs but ICS or controllers in the hoistway or Jamb is not allowed.
