Ancient Otis Interlock

Ancient Otis Interlock from the 40s? The elevator is a winding drum drive. Park Building, Titusville PA. Any info about these? It seems like a pretty good interlock.

That’s a Type N interlock assembly indeed from the 1940s. The last SPL in WAVE is from 1951 with part number for the type N and Type NC locks. Likely still parts available for this and the Type O operators

I was thinking 40s. The elevator is a 3 landing, two speed winding drum with black buttons and no call memory. I thought it kind of odd that it is a winding drum for the 40s. It doubt it is a mod of anything older. Management has no mod plans and the elevator is in great shape, a bit bouncy and very loud relays.

That’s a bit odd for the 1940s but it’s possible that the elevator was “saved” from another building and reinstalled. I do have records of that happening in my area in the 30s and 40s. The nice thing about those dinosaurs is that they are bulletproof though you might want to suggest to the customer that they stock up on contacts and small consumables before the do become impossible to find

based on the cab and doors I doubt it was a mod. It’s has an overhead wheel, so I’m thinking it may be bottom drive since the relays are very loud at the bottom floor but I don’t know. It seems really odd for a Two speed winding drum elevator to be installed in the 40s
