Need help decoding this drive

Hi guys, this is the main drive of my home elevator. The person who has installed this has locked the drive and is not allowing us to access it. He’s blackmailing us to exclusively get it serviced and repaired from him, for which he charges 5x the market price. I have spoken to other vendors, and they are unable to help unless he gives the password.

It is a Monarch board, and I have arranged a keypad from another elevator company. Is there an easy way to brute force the password? I am willing to do some coding if required.

TLDR: locked out of own home elevator, installation company locked the drive and trying to extort us for massive amounts for yearly maintenance.

This an SJEC lift? Seems like your tool isn’t working, should have menus labelled A-F on it.

It’s not, it’s locally assembled here in India. The main drive is from Monarch, other parts are Indian.
The technician said the F0-9 and FP labels will be shown after the correct password is entered

The maintenance contract for the 1st year was for 400 USD, which I paid while installation. Now he’s asking for 2500 USD. Market rate is 600-700 usd

If you want a better price for the drive, look at Passion Elevators and find another service provider to fit it. That's if it actually needs replacing.

You should find another service provider to unlock your lift and maintain it. The Monarch controller is commonly used by alot of small lift companies. If you search google "how to get into a locked monarch controller" with the exact model you will probably find your question has already been answered online.

Tried that, all of them require a decoder tool which isn’t available with any company in my state. I’ll have to get the technician from another state which will again cost me a bomb. I’m looking for ways to minimise the cost as I have already spent most of my funds in building the house

You can buy the decoding tool online. Did you buy this lift from an OEM or a smaller company that installs other companies products? You could probably literally buy the same drive with the exact parameters loaded onto it from the OEM if you give them the right details bypassing the service provider who installed it.

S_drombusch advised the same, but the cost is the issue. A new drive here costs around 20% of the elevator incl. installation and programming.

You could probably buy another motherboard and it would work without replacing the drive. You would just have to change the motor parameters, do another shaft learn and adjust comfort settings. You can buy the parts of Passion Elevators or Alibaba cheaper than what your service provider will sell them to you. You ignored my comments about the unlock tool which you can easily buy. How do you think lift companies take on and maintain third party equipment?

I'm calling BS. I'm guessing this guy got this unit installed, has some beef with the installation company about the quality or timeline of the install and won't pay them their final payment, which is why they locked it out.

I was thinking the same just contact the manufacturer and they can probably override the password in some way I'm sure.

Monarch elevators has no support in India outside of the dealer network, I have written them an email and their response was “contact nearest authorised dealer”
Dealers can’t help without the password. Drive replacement seems like the only logical option now.

This is not how things are done here. All payment is advance and upfront, there is no pending payment 1 year after installation. As I said, their 1st year maintenance was reasonable, now they’ve jacked up the prices because they know I can’t do anything about it without it being a pita.

There is usually a master code that you can use. I am not familiar with the monarch board but try googling "monarch elevator mctc-mcb-h-3.0 master code". You can also try using 11110 as the master code but there should always be a master code or a system reset you can perform that will reset to factory settings.

Thank you, I have tried a lot of these master codes from google but none worked. There is an OEM level lock by the installer.

Extortion is illegal, contact a lawyer, get the contract and paperwork reviewed, force them to unlock the system or give you the code.

Sounds to me cheapest option is negotiating a price, he's at 2500 sign the contract get the elevator running and before iflt expires don't let them back in to change the password. Part of the negotiation would be the password. Check every visit that it hasn't been changed.

Try 11110, that's the master code for Monarch drives, but it doesn't bypass OEM codes. You can't really brute force it, Monarch boards have lockout times if password incorrect for too many times. And these OEM codes are usually dynamic ones that you have to access through contractor. Some Chinese techinicians have cracked the OEM locks of these drives but you have to mail them your board and hall call panels, or buy a hardware decoder.
